Not many defensive options on the bench, hopefully our attack does the business.

Think Woolford should've gone with his right foot there

Cook should've scored, Town playing well again.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Aye, put his shot too close to the keeper. Playing well though.

MK go close with a deflected effort just as I say that.

Are MK Dons giving us time and space on the ball or are Town passing it around quickly so they can't get near us?

Early report sound like we've picked up from where we left off against the Imps and playing very well.

Get in.

Cook on hand to bang it into the roof of the net after Woolford's low effort was pushed out by their keeper.  Nice play by cook as it was his pass (I think) that put Woolford through in the first place.

Been a couple of seasons since we've had soneone following up on our shots incase the ball.is spilt like it was.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Playing really well, this midfield is already looking like the best set up we've had in a long long time imo, we look more like the home team so far, just hope we don't regret missing some of these really good chances again

I thought that was a pretty impressive first half performance, much better than they seemed to be giving it credit for on the commentary. It's so pleasing to see us playing like a decent team again, if we are lucky on the injuries front and Thomas is what we are hoping for then I think we have a more than decent chance of pushing for the play-offs/promotion places.

Not saying I blame McKeown for the goal (and he made a great save a few minutes later to keep it at 1-1), but I reckon a really top quality commanding keeper would have got something on that cross before their lad nodded it in.

Agree Chrisblor, Macca should of come abd got it but the 2 CBs shouldn't of let Simpson get between them so easily.

Looks like MK Dons have had the hair dryer treatment at half time and are completely on top.

We just can't seem to get that vital second goal. I still think if we'd gone two up against FGR we would probably have got at least a point and I'm sure two goals would have finished off Lincoln

Still I suppose leading 1-0 in every game is better than last season!

Should have started IMO, can't work out why he's always on the bench

Can only assume we are still slowly getting him back to full fittness having had a number of major knee injuries in recent years we aren't rushing him in.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Hendrie on for Clifton we've either gone for 541 or 532 formation its a little hard to tell at the moment

Yet another Akinde penalty for Lincoln. Come on Refs sort it. He is a con artist.

See that bloody John Pen Akinde has got another one for Lincoln, oldies will remember Fanny Lee, he was always worth about 10 penalties a season.

Dixon straight red. Stupid decision like when Rose was sent off 3 match ban for dangerous play.

That was nothing like Rose's red card. Horrible two footed tackle from Dixon. The bloke's a massive liability.

Yep - great to watch a game you'd otherwise have missed - and also that the money mostly goes to Town.  Given our large number of exiles I can see this being good for us.

Apart from a few odd close-ups with the camera, and once I got my head round there being no replays - it was a good use of a tenner.

Great first half. Shocking start to the 2nd but they dug in really well for a point. Some unbelievable blocks to keep it at 1-1.
Better finishing and we’d have been out of sight at half time. As much as they put pressure on us 2nd half, they weren’t as good as we were first half.

3 good league performances on the spin. Hope we can keep it up and be a little more ruthless in front of goal.

Definite red, left the ground and challenged with both feet. Right in the middle of the pitch as well with no danger, terrible decision from a very experienced player who had played well until that point.

Cracking point that though. Battled till the end with some excellent spells of possession thrown in, especially in the first half. We’re gonna be alright with this lot I reckon.

Decent battled performance in the second half, not pretty but effective after a very calm and measured first half where MK didn’t trouble,

One thing that seemed to strike me is that when the panic set in immedately after their equaliser you could almost tell the new acquisitions from the inherited players. Welsh and Hessenthaler (and Thomas for his brief cameo) all seemed to have plenty more time on the ball and overall calmness in finding a pass as opposed to a quick ‘get the ball out of my responsibility’ approach we’ve seen in some players from the previous regimes.

Absolutely no doubt about that red card btw:

I glad you did not play in my day mate that was a 50-50 ball play on.

I bet Bobby Cumming would get sent off every match,

The game has gone soft.

PS,  Bobby would not get sent off every match because he would be suspended for most of them.

A good away point.....one that I would have taken before the game.

Batch, K.Moore, Waters, Wiggington, Crombie, Brolly, Ford, Drinkell, Mitchell, Cumming, Kilmore. D.Moore, Stone, Liddell. ....1979/80..... now that WAS a team.

Like the way we play, love the spirit of the team, 3 of the 4 teams we've played are unbeaten in their first 4 games. Hopefully we'll start finishing teams off, and maintain control of games for a bit longer. Have to appreciate MK dons change of tactics at half time today, good move by tisdale. I think Wes thomas brought something different up front when he came on i'd like to see him get longer on the pitch.

First half I thought we were going to win but overall happy with a point. Well done to the management and the players - that’s a decent point.

The opening day debacle aside Grimsby Town are beginning to look like a team with some spunk, a team to take a bit of pride in.

Their defence sitting deeper in the second half made the difference, we couldn't break on them as effectively as we did in the first half. Both Thomas and Hendrie looked good. Really can't wait for Thomas to be fully fit and start up front for us he just looks a level above. He'll soon knock Hooper out of the side and force Cook out wide.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I think the tackle would be 50/50 if the ball wasn’t running away from Dixon.

Being a 50/50 challenge hasn’t mattered in the game for nearly a decade now. Dixon was two footed, straight on, off the ground and therefore out of control. Their player slid in on the ground, more side on and with studs down. Absolute red card in my opinion.

However, that shouldn’t detract from an otherwise excellent team display.

Vernam on for a poor Hooper

Sorry, can’t agree with that. Hooper played his part in the excellent first half, always wanted the ball and run at their defence on a number of occasions, and also tracked back a lot

I think he took a knock and signalled that to the bench?

Macca should not be letting a ball enter his 6 yard box in the air with out going for it. He needs to command his area better IMO. Otherwise a fantastic performance with some great saves, especially at the end.

A lot of us said that two points from those two games would be good going. And it shows how much progress has been made when we're slightly disappointed not to have got 4. Well done Town!

I think I said I'd have been happy with 4 points from the first 4 games, considering the number of tricky fixtures. I'm quite pleased we've got 5 points, though could well have another couple with a bit of luck.

Main thing is to continue the decent performances because I'm sure we will start picking up wins if we do.

Out of curiosity, I've just had a look at their forum, and they seem quite affronted that they didn't beat us. As usual, it was their poor play at fault, with not much credit given to us.

Even saw the classic line. "If we have any ambition, we have to be beating 'the likes of' Grimsby.

Yeah, 'cos you're such a massive club, with your 6000 fans.

Have to disagree . Have tried to copy and paste some of the comments off the MK forum
Grimsby thread , but I struggle with computers.
Have  a look at page 10 and I think you will get the opposite impression . They are very complimentary.

Thanks for the heads up mate... As you say some very positive comments from.a.selection of MK fans....

"I think sometimes you have to credit the opposition. As a football game that was the most enjoyable at the stadium for a number of seasons in my opinion and they really came at us and caused us problems. I can imagine it is very difficult for 11 players to be as good as another team at going forward and dominating the play when another team on the pitch is already doing it. We coped fine until their goal and second half we had our own spell where we could’ve been 2/3 up. It was end to end and I thought it looked better than a League Two game and I’d have paid good money to see that and come away extremely pleased"

"I enjoyed the match too, thought it very entertaining. I think you have to credit Grimsby for recognising the way we were set up and exploiting the weaknesses of it time and again in the first half. In truth, we were a bit lucky to only be one down I thought. In the same respect, you have to afford us the same credit for making the changes to nullify their approach and start to affect the game and impose how we wanted to play"

"I thought we did that well when in seasons since the L1 promotion, I dont think we would have changed and plodded on regardless and got comfortably beaten"

My personal favourite...

"Yes, good point....during the actual match last night I was thinking it seemed no different to a L1 fixture.

Some on here have said "we ought to be beating teams like Grimsby if we want to go up", but I thought they were a pretty decent team, and will be looking at a top 6 finish themselves I would think"

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old, Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn, At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, We WILL remember them"

Which is more than what we get...so not sure how/why you can be so disparaging ?

Plus they have been operating at an equal or higher level than us for most, if not all, of their existence....  10 seasons out of 12 above us (?)  so "the likes of Grimsby" to them isnt a ridiculous yard stick as painful as it seems.
It may seem ridiculous to us as they are relatively Johnnie come latelys , but in reality , we have not been anything like a League force to be reckoned since at least 2006 so lets forget the 140 yrs for a moment and realise where we are....

its our 3rd season back in the League.

I think it would've been fascinating to have shared a bottle of wine with the 2 managers after that (obviously in a nice little village pub in n.bucks ). have always thought tisdale was a very clever, astute manager and I wonder if he has met his match in Jolley. Bet it would've been a fascinating post mortem from a tactical point of view.Suspect that jolley would've walked away from that and thought, yeah you've been doing this ten years and I've traded you punch for punch.
