Swann puts on £3 million of his own money cough cough.
He runs the show he bought Margetts off us just went to his manager here’s a striker that never featured and the player ended up tweeting how bored he was not playing.
So I can see he won’t stand for anything like what’s happened to them.

I don't know the ins and outs of their circumstances, but you can genuinely see things spiralling very quickly for Scunny if they're not careful. They've been averaging crowds about in line with the bottom half of league two despite years of relative success and over-acheivement and you'd have to imagine these dropping very quickly if things started to turn south (even more so if they were to get relegated to league two where away crowds are probably around half of what they are in league one).

Falling crowds and a wage bill approaching double their turnover (according to the recent BBC report) would be an absolute recipe for disaster if the financial propping-up of the club was to suddenly cease.

Heard whispers of this for a while so not overly surprised. However, while I’m not up to data with the price tag of average League 1 clubs, the figure reported does seem excessive. Although when contrasted against the reported cash injections then perhaps a somewhat accurate representation. Very little financial incentive once the passion wears off, similar to us in some ways.

Can’t help but think the desire to sell up represents the state of football within N.E. Lincs at present. Alive and kicking but without pulling power either on or off the pitch.

Oh and hi, first post!

Hi conocoloco. Ace username.

Would love love to have Scunny back in the same league as us, hopefully league one as a preference.

Despite huge sums pumped in by Swann there is little interest in football in the Town of Scunthorpe. Barely 3000 home fans this evening.

Giving Alexander huge spending power nearly led to promotion but it was a huge gamble, and one which was unsustainable

Town, Hull and Scunny in league 1 would be bliss. Just like the old days.

Imagine a division with us, Scunny, Lincoln and Hull all in it. I'm not sure whether that's ever happened in history before but it's not beyond possibility that it could happen next season.

Would certainly keep the old bill busy, that's for sure.
