All but set to happen. Best of luck to him, I don’t think there was any real chance he’d end back with us, I still think maybe the Championship seems a step to far for him seeing his recent form with Wigan and Cardiff but rejoining Hursty is probably the best chance he has to succeed at that level

Incidentally not sure if it’s been mentioned but Toto Nsiala and Jon Nolan have handed in transfer requests admist interest from Ipswich.

You say his form, but he’s barely played since he left us, to be fair to him.

Got injured in his one half season at Wigan IIRC, admittedly 3 goals in 12 starts wasn’t great but they were a relegation bound team.

At Cardiff he’s only started 4 games, but still managed 3 goals.

Fair comment Sam, I suppose I mean he’s not exactly settled since leaving Town. I know some Wigan and Cardiff fans haven’t rated him. I expected him to go to League One personally, in fact I was bracing myself to see him in a Scunny shirt which has happened before  (Paterson, Townsend) but fair play to the lad. The lads a legend regardless of what he does or doesn’t do from now on.

I note it says Wigan bought him from us for £750,000. Even with sell on clause it’s way short of the million some people believed.

Good luck to Omar, hope he does well.

Basically it was well under 1million which is why it's undisclosed.

If it's undisclosed, would the teenager who controls the EFL hub* at skysports.com know the amount?

Good luck to him any road. I thought he'd do well at Peterborough but he barely played, was he injured?

Wanting £1 million for Toto and £1.5+ for Nolan, not sure Ipswich dont that kind of money to throw about.

I don't blame Shrewsbury for doing that. How often do these footballers get tapped up to follow their previous manager elsewhere.

It was £800,000 give or take, if I remember correctly. It was easy to figure out on the published accounts as he was the only player we got a fee for that year.

They are over £60 million in debt so that wont make much difference,

They are about to sell Waghorn  for over £10 million so quids in.

Also Hurst says he hopes he is there for a lot longer than his 3 year contract.

Unless of course someone comes in from a bigger / higher club and he jumps ship like he did at Boston, Town and Shrewsbury

The accounts state a net figure for player trading  so you can’t tell from that source alone what someone went for.

I think us two should join the Ipswich fans forum and start picking on Paul so he shows his true colours Swin,

I think he will have a tough job gaining the respect of most fans anyway,

One lady fan said on the news when asked what she thought of the new manager replied,

"I have never heard of him I had to look him up "

They should have had J.S.F. as owner-then they would only be £3million in debt.

Pete,

You are asking Swin to go on a footy forum and spout negative sh1te just to get a reaction.

How ironic 😃

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I have told all the Ipswich ST holders I know what a little excrement he will be when the fans turn on him. Trouble is Ipswich fans tend not to turn on managers, the bit of flak Mick McCarthy got took years to build to anything worth noting. I know a number of players are not buying into the new regime and that they will be shipped out asap
He is making so many changes / signings in an effort to make it 'his' team that there is s real danger he might go too far. If he builds a team from what will be virtually scratch plus a lot of juniors from Klugs academy then he deserves all the praise possible
Personally I hope they get relegated but then I've been hoping for that (with a couple of successes) for nearly 40 years!
Seriously I have my doubts about Toto and I think Jackson would have been a better bet than Bogle but Nolan if he comes will do very well at Portman Road

Not sure if all are in the same accounting year, but we paid fees for Berrett, Osborne, Assante and Jones. I think there was another one that Hurst signed too. You're also ignoring the fact that clubs don't pay all the money up front, it's usually structured over a couple of years. It was widely reported that it was over a million at the time.

I was told from two different Directors of GTFC that the fee we got for Bogle was £1m. They said they agreed not to accept a penny less.
Sadly it seems to have been wasted by Bignot ( and authorised by the board) who recruited the non league lads but was paying them silly money. Jones and Osbourne were decent enough

I think you might be able to lump Clements in as well with a small fee. Not sure about Yussuf?

Think we paid for Bolarinwa as well. Bonkers as it sounds I’m pretty sure we did. Yussuf was a free IIRC but we paid a “five figure fee” for Clements I’m sure.

No way Bogle is going to Ipswich, Hurst does not like Bogle.

Anyway looks like a season loan to Birmingham, better move for him.

Heard a rumour, we might and try to get Zak Clough on loan, which I do not think will happen.

Thought I would throw his name out there.

I think this is a good move for him. Birmingham feels to me like his 'Goldilocks' zone; unlikely to be too readily pressured by the threat of relegation nor burdened with the expectation of promotion.

I think he's got all the attributes to be an accomplished Championship player once given the chance to properly aclimatize; something that's not really happened for him for one reason or another at Wigan and Cardiff. Garry Monk a good manager for him too, I'd say.

Hope it all works out for him - a genuine Town legend despite only being here for 18 months.
