When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

It’s a crying shame he’s not been back at the club in some manor since his retirement. Literally 11 years ago since he hung up his boots. I’ve read his autobiography and he mentions that he thinks Fenty isn’t keen on him. He played his last couple of seasons on peanuts and reduced terms that he mixed with coaching duties just so he could live. Then I think there was some misinterpreted comment he made about Ryan Bennett saying he should move on that Fenty took offence to and that every time he’s gone for a job at the club he’s been rejected. It’s absolute madness a guy who’s our record appearance holder, lives local and loves the club but yet hasn’t been offered a chance to take up some kind of role. Fair play to him at Scunny, I wish him the very best where ever he goes.

Listening to the BBC interview, and how much he loves the club gave me lumps in my throat almost. I know it’s the popular opinion on here to be dead against any former players returning, but if they’d have given the job to Groves and Macca rather than Bignot Bingo, we’d never have gotten into this mess.

The amount of time he spent on towns books would of seen him knighted in the present age of ridiculas money , agents and zero loyalty.

I love Macca but just because he was a loyal servant to the club (if you forget agreeing to sign for Hull as he wanted more money) doesn’t mean he is entitled to a job as a coach. When he has applied for the manager’s job in the past he was very inexperienced and not suitable. On paper Bignot was a much better option. Obviously Bignot was a disaster but his record before GTFC was impressive.
