I work  Near Newcastle with a load of Mackems........ This is their take on us lot

https://rokerreport.sbnation.c.....-is-the-plaice-to-be

The lads I work with went to their last pre season game at Hartlepool and even they said Sunderland were awful... so far they have lost to Hartlepool and Darlington. (I am led to believe)

Patronising load of tripe. Love the bit that 'we associate with Yorkshire' and our perceived lack of history. What a lazy, tedious bit of writing.

Agreed, absolute twaddle. Also, how can you go on about how good the fish and chips are here without mentioning Steeles.

Well, they recommend travelling further to get to the Freeman Street pubs rather than the shorter distance to Clee (with nicer pubs) so whoever wrote it obviously isn't overly sharp.

They were awful against us last week. Would be shocked if they were anywhere near the top of league one this season.

Proper out of shape.

Well he won't win any awards for that piece and must be one of those people who spoil the mood at parties by thinking they are witty and funny.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

True, the bookmakers have us as very short odds favourites based on Sunderland being a big club by third tier standards. A play-off place maybe but top-three highly unlikely. At least there's a bit of excitement around the club after some very gloomy years.
If any Sunderland supporter makes a crack about Mickey Mouse club you should feel free to slap them around the face with a wet haddock.
