At mate's house with large TV.  Family meal in Grantham cancelled now due to ill-health of elderly guests.

Settle Social Club or round the corner at home with my four day old daughter and partner's parents. If it were only her dad, I'd watch at home but not sure now. Will decide when I see how much/little sleep we have tonight

Managed to get home from the Yorkshire Dales (Hawes) today in time to watch us beat Sweden. Saw us beat Tunisia in the Youth Hostel on the Isle of Arran, then the games against Panama and Belgium were viewed in a rented cottage on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. The win against Columbia was witnessed in Wetherspoons in Ayr, surrounded by Jocks and a table full of very excited Spanish speakers, who i presume were Columbian fans, or at least wanted Columbia to win. There was a few English fans in there, but the biggest cheer of the night was saved for when Columbia got their late equaliser, when the local Scots celebrated long and loud. They looked very glum when we won the shoot out.

Had a great and very sunny holiday, made all the better by the exploits of England. Even managed to see a pod of dolphins and a Minke whale fully breach out of the water on the ferry from Islay to Oban. Also saw a white tailed Sea Eagle up close on a rock during a boat trip out to Staffa to see Fingle's cave. Magical!

That must have been so sweet being there with all those Bitter Jocks when we won the shoot out.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Don't do the same thing for the semis then Ron, cause it'll be your fault if we lose

Hardly any. I had to keep pinching myself to believe i was in Scotland. Not a spot of rain, wall to wall sunshine and very few midges about. Horseflies (clegs) were the main problem. I was bitten a few times by the little sods and they drew blood. Mainly sticking to the coast with a breeze helps with the midges.

Yeah it was. Made my very nice beer taste even better. Was talking to a guy from Birmingham who has lived there for 7 years and he was well chuffed as he's had stick in the past from the locals.
