At work we ran a very simple competition for Euro96.  For £10 name the 4 semi-finalists.

With hindsight, it was clear that to win the biggest prize you had to be brave and pick an outsider.  There were numerous runners-up prizes for people who picked 3 teams:  England, Germany and France.  No one also picked the Czech Republic as a 4th team (which would have won the sole first prize of £500).

For this World Cup, there are dead certs like Iceland for the last 4.   For outside bets, there are the teams who are rank-outsiders and can't win their first game such as Germany, Brazil and Argentina.

The competition would be simple and easy to organise on the Fishy, for someone with more time than I have now.   Any takers?
