I assume the red crosses are from people who don’t want us to sign Gareth Bale?

Let's say it got to that stage and we unveiled Gareth Bale this afternoon. For that to have happened we would probably have paid Real Madrid the best part of £100 million and he would have signed a contract that would have Town paying him £400,000 per week. We'd also have an unhappy player on our hands as I'm sure dear Gareth would probably not be overly impressed with have to ply his trade in League 2. The club would quickly go bust.

So, no, I don't want us to sign Gareth Bale.

If we had signed Bale last season, Slade would have turned him into chaff.

He wouldn't get up for that kind of money. Apparently he is on 650k a week! Could we just pay him between 3pm and 4.45pm on a Saturday. With a 15 minute unpaid break?

Make it even cheaper, bring him on for the last ten minutes of each game, although at his hourly rate that would still be £10K per week.

I would imagine that MJ has been speaking to lots of footballers he knows since he got the job, just in case he kept us up. I think that's how pragmatic, organised and deliberate he is. This could be an exceptional summer if I am right
