I hope you don't mean put him on as a sub and sling the ball at him from all angles. I've had enough of that to last me a lifetime. It was like watching an even more direct Lincoln under Slade and I don't ever want to see that excrement again. Win, draw or lose we need to play the right way, the Grimsby way.

Would rather have Vernam back if we can get him, though i do think we need at least one experienced striker with some sort of steady goalscoring record over a period of time.

I know what you're saying Les - and i'm an optimist more often than not. But hand on heart, i'd be pleasantly very surprised if we challenge for the playoffs this season.

Talk of the playoffs since our return to the league has been unfounded and wide of the mark so far.....all talk from managers and players who havent stepped up to the plate. In reality, i think we are still very much trying to find our feet in this league after two average to very bad seasons of stops, starts, manager changes and dicing with death. I think we need to give MJ time, and my gut feeling is that this season will be a season of new beginnings, building a strong base of players to perhaps crack on next season.

Obviously i want us to be challenging for the title mind, nevermind the playoffs

Nothing against Ollie but we are looking up not back,

Our side will be made up of young talented quick players making a name for themselves under Jolley.

With 1 or 2 old heads to calm things down when needed.
