Looks like swan is staying with the scunts then but even these plans include house building, maybe not flashing as much cash as we thought

But, but, but you can’t redevelop grounds - what about the conference facilities?!

Except there ground already has the conference facilities and associated parking needs, being as it was built in the modern era anyway, so can already take advantage of this income stream. Ours can't.

We can't fill ours but we want a new stadium holding 15k or whatever it is. I think it is called ambition.

They have spent a large part of the past decade bobbing between Championship and League 1 and still cant grow a fanbase or fill their ground, ambition is well and good but flogging a dead horse if you ask me......regards our own "plans" i also think they are over ambitious with the current set up.

Donny, Chesterfield and Rovrum all had even more shocking crowds at Belle Vue, Saltergate and Millmoor. GTFC and Lincoln are both potentially significantly bigger clubs than Scunthorpe. Both have support or potential support in the wider county, Scunthorpe just don't have that. With Donny to the west Scunthorpe are surrounded by bigger clubs with a much longer history. Donny and Lincoln have had their quantum leap, but we won't get ours until, like those clubs above, we move to a new stadium fit for the 21st century and not the 19th century. If and when we do, then our crowds would be double Scunthorpe's (as long at the team are doing the business like Scunthorpe)

Dont think i have "slagged them off" , just asked what is the point when they cant fill their existing ground despite having been in a relatively high position over the last decade compared to the rest of their entire history.
As you say we too cant fill our ground very often so i dont see the point of a 14,000 stadium when/if we ever move either. Ambition is one thing but playing in a half empty stadium week in week out is soul destroying and isnt attractive to floating support.

Don't forget our times in the Championship were probably when crowds all over the country were at an all time low. In recent times we've had bigger crowds than the Scunts despite being two divisions below watching shite. They come up with the bigger population excuse but truth is when you look at both catchment areas for support there's nothing in it nowadays.

Lawrie McMennemy and George Kerr caused the peaks in 1972 and 1979. It wasnt just the football, they had charisma and got the whole town talking about football again.
