Crewe Alexandra have signed Paul Green on a one-year deal after he was released by Oldham >> https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44070110

The 35-year-old midfielder ended the 2017-18 season on loan with the Alex, scoring once in 20 league appearances. The former Republic of Ireland international has also had spells with Doncaster, Derby, Leeds and Rotherham.

So Colchester will have Comley and Pell in Central midfield next season.
Yep, looks like confirmation on BBC Sport today, six figure fee, three-year deal >> https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44070175

Coventry City have signed Zain Westbrooke from Championship side Brentford on a free transfer. The 21-year-old midfielder has signed with the Sky Blues until 2020, with a club option to extend the deal by a further year.

Westbrooke made his only Brentford appearance as a substitute in a draw with Fulham in April 2017. He had loan spells with National League sides Solihull and Leyton Orient this season, featuring in seven league games.

When a club has an option on a player does the player have any option himself-doesn't seem fair to me.

My guess is their option is the option not to sign the contract with the option in the first place 😂

Scotland isn't producing the talented players it once did, so to improve, they have to shop around, and the lower leagues of Europe is their spending level, unless you are one of the big clubs. To get those players from England to move there, they have to make it financially attractive enough to make it happen. Suppose it's a gamble, like most clubs, speculate to accumulate. Getting from the bottom end of the league towards the middle, gets you to 1.5 million in prize money and the teams at the top end are nearing 3 million, so if a few players, such as our Macca can help them move a few places up the league, they will pay for themselves almost.

£3m. That's about what each then Div 1 club (Championship) was due to get per season under the ITV Digital Deal all those years ago.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

It's not a slave contract. It's like they sign a deal that if they perform they get a contract extension.

Morecambe have signed Carlos Mendes Gomes, the19-year-old attacking midfielder spent time in the youth ranks at Atlético Madrid.  Born in Yeumbel, Senegal, he grew up in Spain, Mendes has been making a big impression since moving to Manchester. His performances for West Didsbury & Chorlton led to him winning Young Player of the Season and Under-18s Player of the Season in 2016/17.

Morecambe have signed 20-year-old midfielder Lamin Jagne. The duo, who have come through the Development Centre based at The Manchester College run by Darren Finch and Bill Prendergast, have played as trialists in Stewart Drummond’s reserve team games throughout 2018 and have impressed both Drummond and Bentley.

Morecambe going for raw youth since they had a old squad of players last season.

Nah, they're making these names up. What next Flamin Sambucas?
