The 21-year-old striker was at Doncaster academy with his home town club until he was snapped up by Rotherham as a teenager. He made his first senior appearance for his new club as an 18-year old when he came off the bench at Birmingham in April 2015. Loan spells with Harrogate Town, where he bagged five goals in 10 appearances, with his initial spell being cut short as he was recalled as cover for an injury crisis at the New York Stadium. He established himself in Rotherham’s Championship squad through the 2016–17 season, with three goals in 23 appearances. A regular feature in League One last season, he scored twice in his 20 appearances for his parent club.

The 18-year-old midfielder came through the youth ranks with the Blades and made his first team debut at the age of 17 in a 4–2 EFL Trophy away victory against Grimsby Town. He became the youngest player in the club’s history to mark his debut by hitting the back of the net during that game. He made his league debut last season against Preston, and featured again when the Blades played Ipswich Town in the FA Cup.

The 32-year-old midfielder had loan spells with MK Dons, Millwall and St Johnstone before he joined Hibernian on a free transfer in 2007 from Chelsea. He had two seasons at Easter Road, making 36 appearances before finishing the 2008–09 campaign at another Scottish Premier League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The following season he made 33 appearances in his second spell at St Johnstone before heading back south for two seasons in League One at Oldham Athletic. Filipe made 68 appearances for the Latics and then headed to Stevenage, for whom he played 66 times.

Bradford City in League One was his next port of call where the playmaker made 71 appearances. His form for the Bantams earned him a move to Bolton for whom he played 56 times in 18 months, including 37 last season in the Championship as Bolton survived on the final day of the season. Filipe can play anywhere across midfield and has contributed 42 goals to his various previous clubs in 390 appearances.

The 32-year-old plays as a midfielder, but can also play as a centre-back or full-back. Born in France, Romain began his career at Chamois Niortais before moving to England and signing for Dagenham & Redbridge. The experienced defender, who can also play in midfield, had spells with Brighton & Hove Albion and Gillingham before joining Leyton Orient in 2013 where he made over 80 appearances. He linked up with Bradford in 2016. He made 77 appearances for the Bantams and also captained the club.

The 27-year-old right-back has spent time playing in his native Australia before joining Hereford, a club he has captained for the past two seasons, helping them gain promotion to National League North as they amassed 113 points over a 46-game campaign. He previously played in the Australian A league for both Manly United and Central Coast Mariners.

The 31-year-old began winger who can also play as an attacking midfielder began his career with Manchester Utd, he had a number of loan spells with the likes of Scottish side Rangers, Sheffield Utd and Nottingham Forest. He signed permanantly for Ipswich Town where he spent four years making over 100 appearances at Portman Road. Three years with Millwall followed, the last of which Lee spent time on loan with Northampton Town, helping them to win the League Two title in the 2015/16 season. He spent the last two seasons with League One side Gillingham and played 39 times for the club in the last campaign.

The 24-year-old striker is a Northern Ireland international. He scored four goals in 28 appearances for Bradford last season. McCartan started his career at Burnley for a two-year scholarship in 2009 before spending a a few months in 2013 on loan at Hyde. At the end of the 2012–13 season, he was snapped up by Accrington Stanley where he scored 24 goals in 110 League Two appearances.

The 20-year-old  left-sided centre-back spent the second half of 2017–18 at Lincoln, scoring twice in 15 appearances as the Imps reached the League Two play-offs. Wharton, who signed a new three-year contract with Blackburn on Wednesday, has played six times for Rovers since making his debut in August 2016.

The 35-year-old midfielder was a left-back for the majority of his career but converted to his current role during his spell at Rochdale. He began his career at Manchester Utd, but made his Football League debut with Yeovil Town and played more than 450 games for clubs including Stockport County, Norwich City, Yeovil Town, Swindon and Colchester.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper is returning on a one year deal, after making over one hundred appearances for the club between 2013 and 2015. The former Chelsea trainee has also represented the likes of Crewe Alexandra, Rotherham United and Wrexham, before making 44 appearances for AFC Fylde in 2016. Last season, Rhys was loaned out to Tranmere Rovers, where he made six appearances.

The 32-year-old left-back started his career at Blackburn Rovers where he came through the youth ranks before loan spells with Queens Park Rangers, Blackpool, Crewe Alexandra, Huddersfield Town and Tranmere Rovers. In 2007, Taylor signed permanently for Tranmere where in total he made 69 appearances before moving for an undisclosed fee to Sheffield United, he played 39 times in the Championship as well as featuring in the League One play-off final in 2012. He then joined Walsall where he made 140 appearances and played in the 2015 Johnston’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley Stadium. Most recently the defender has been at Blackpool since 2016, making 38 appearances and helping the Seasiders to a play-off place in 2017.

The 22-year-old striker joined Fleetwood from Rushall Olympic last summer but made just one first-team appearance, scoring against Chesterfield in the EFL Trophy. The 25-year-old midfielder had two loan spells with Swindon in 2015–16 and 2016–17. He also spent time on loan on Crawley, Aldershot, St Johnstone, Stevenage and Gillingham. He joined Peterborough in June 2017 and has made 42 appearances for the club.

The 19-year-old Bristol born attacking midfielder is an England Under-20 international. Maddox joined Chelsea from Bristol City as a 14-year-old. Maddox helped Chelsea win the FA Youth Cup for two years in a row, clinching the UEFA Youth League and was a member of the Under-18s squad that clinched the treble. He has also shone on the international stage at youth age as well and has represented England up until Under-20s, including being part of the squad that won the U19 European Championships.

The 25-year-old Dutch striker joins Cheltenham from Hayes & Yeading United where he scored a club record 39 goals last season, 33 in the league appearances, as United finished third in Evo-Stik Southern East last term. Duku was born and played his early football in Holland, with spells at VV Eemdijk and FC Breukelen, until moving to the UK for the start of season 2015/16. The forward spent time with Chesham United before moving to Kings Langley, establishing himself as a regular in the side that won promotion to the Southern Premier.

The 23-year-old striker joined the club in February on a short-term deal untill May and since been on trial with the club. Benteke started his career in his native Belgium coming through the youth ranks with Standard Liège. Following his release, he joined Visé in the Belgian Second Division and made 20 appearances, scoring two goals. A two-year spell at Belgian First Division side Zulte-Waregem followed where he scored twice in 25 appearances. He linked up with his brother Christian Benteke at Crystal Palace in 2016 and made one Premier League appearance before injury ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

The 21-year-old 6ft 4in goalkeeper came through the Reading Academy, enjoying successful loan spells with various non-league clubs and also in Iceland in recent seasons. In 2017–18, he made 26 appearances on loan with Aldershot Town in the National League, keeping ten clean sheets and conceding just 22 goals. Having won their January player of the month award, Ward impressed as he helped Aldershot make the National League play offs and saved three penalties, one in normal time and two in the shoot out of their semi final with Ebbsfleet.

Cheltenham have signed Liam McAlinden on a two-year contract following his release by Exeter City >> https://www.ctfc.com/news/2018/july/signing-liam-mcalinden/

The 24-year-old striker  made 61 appearances including 35 as a substitute and scored 7 goals for Exeter over two seasons.  Loan spells at Shrewsbury Town, Fleetwood Town and Crawley Town before making a move to Exeter City in 2016. McAlinden started his career in the Academy at Wolverhampton and went onto make 14 appearances after making his debut in 2013. McAlinden has also represented the Republic of Ireland and Northern and at Under-21 level.

Let's hope a deal is done this week

But this can work both ways, he goes and someone comes in to take his place has a point to prove and plays their socks off or he plays, his heads been turned and knows a big move is looming and doesn't get to involved to avoid injury.
