Can't stand Ipswich Town - I have lived here 40 years this year and have only been inside Portman Road 4 times - 3 to see Town and once with the Willem II fans for a friendly, but I wouldn't wish Hurst on them.

If he does come (and its more possible now Mowbray has definitely ruled himself out) I might see him in the street and I can cup my ear at the little excrement so maybe not all bad

As I'm sure they are eternally grateful that you grace their parish with your presence Swin. Maybe you ought to move to somewhere that would appreciate you....like Syria.

Swin in Syria: Call this a war! flipping shambles. It's been going 7 years and you still haven't beaten this bunch of lunatics. Even that little twit Hurst would have won by now. Now I know I said with the Russians help the government would never retake the Damascus suburbs, and they've gone and done it granted, I was wrong, but who's to say Assad wouldn't have done it on his own?

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Good luck to him, he's performed a minor miracle at Shrewsbury. Nobody owes anybody anything in modern football, if the Shrews lost their first three games next season they'd be calling for his head.

If they lose in the playoffs there may be  calls for his head anyway. Plenty of Shrews fans think they could have got an automatic place if he had carried on with the style they showed earlier in the season when they were top of the league, but he did his usual,  aimed low and the results petered out.

Ipswich would probably be a good club for him in one way, they are very tolerant of bland football and lack of success and keep their managers a long time as a rule.

I think he will go to Ipswich (or somewhere) regardless of the playoffs because he has to move, the only way for him at Shrewsbury now is down and he is very good at marketing himself as a manager who does not fail.

I can see they would be disappointed but highly doubt given a Wembley failing (he was good at them) already and a chance at going up they would want him out?

perhaps Hurst has learnt from Slade lose in the playoffs/final,   so your old club is not in the same division as your new one.
