Hi mate.

Is it possible to have the pre-game music turned off with 5 minutes until kick off and no entrance music? Would much rather hear 5 thousand people chanting 'Maaaariners' than not be able to hear anything over Thin Lizzy.

If the club can't even delegate and trust its stadium announcer to pick a playlist without having to micromanage them with "strict orders" on the granular detail of the pre-match playlist, how can we expect people at the top to trust the rest of their staff to use their initiative to make decisions?

This song has been used by the Boston Red Sox for about 20 years, and according to urban myth, was requested as an homage to the newborn daughter of a long-time RedSox employee.

It was then used more throughout the US by college teams (my wife's college have been using it for years) and at some point made its way over to Europe, with Northern Ireland fans singing Sweet Norn Iron, then loads of other clubs jumping on the bandwagon, including it now seems, the unimaginative dullards at the top of ours.
