Hi all,

Here is an article that might interest you about Michael Jolley...please leave comments (good or bad) at the bottom of the page.

Thank you,

James

Also anyone think Jimmy Dunne could be tempted to join the Mariners next season? I wouldn't be surprised if he arrived with a couple of other ex-Burnley youth players. Excellent if he does.

Was Bignot an utter disaster?
He bought in some good players and the football was never boring

Never boring but the club was a total shambles as were many of the formations!

For once I fully supported the board when they got rid, just a shame they then went and appointed Slade

not  a bad article, written from a Town fann's perspective. Below are 2 equally interesting articles i posted a week a two ago if people want some additional reading . they are abit more about jolley in the whole, and not just in relation to Gy.

https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/michael-jolley-former-city-trader-grimsby-league-two/

good shout about Jimmy Dunne - we desperately need a young center half and has done well at Accy Stan. Barrow fans really rated him

http://www.barrowafc.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25597

my only thought would be that having had a good spell with the Div 2 Champs(?) Burnley will want him loaned out to a higher grade club to continue his progress, maybe even continuing with Stanley in Div 1?

Can't remember it being boring but can't remember it being good, how many Bignot players still play for us?

How many should though? Jones, Osborne, Yussuf etc would strengthen this squad...

Who knows, with Clifton, Dembele, Wright, Cardwell and A Rose, bring in half a dozen experienced heads and we may have a promising blend of youth and experience to build on.

good point well made. i would add a very interesting comment i heard last night re simeone and atleti.
he joined them when they were mid table and having just lost in la copa del rey to a 3rd division athlete. 2 years later they were in the champions league final with 8 of the same players who'd appeared in simeone's first side, proving what a good coach he is.
is it possible that we could see a similar outcome (in terms of player improvement rather than Champions League!) with some of our players under Jolley? the lads named above but also people like rose, mills, hall-johnson and hooper?
