Disasters waiting to happen??????👊

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Go to Bet365 for the odds of him being sent to the stands during his first game.

I read the other day that Nolan was tapping him up to sign for T'Counteh for next season. He may still be available yet.

Has he actually retired as a player yet ?

He's one of those people that doesn't hold back when making an opinion, bit like Roy Keane.....should go down well with the players.

Car crash waiting to happen.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Bit unfair on John Sheridan who has done extremely well since taking over.

I wonder how long it will be before he lamps a player in the changing room or the  training pitch.

It will be interesting to see what he says to the first Fleetwood player to be sent off and cost his side the game. It will have to be “Do as I say, not as I did.”

Amazed by this decision.

John Sheridan has done an amazing job steering the Cods away from the relegation zone to mid table safety in a matter of weeks. Whilst Sheridan has built himself a reputation of saving teams from going down he wouldnt have been the worst choice moving forward either.

Joey Barton ??   FFS. Not only no experience as a coach or manager but an ill disciplined hot head as a player. Andy Pilley has usually picked his managers well but I have to agree with an earlier poster this is a disaster waiting to happen.....to rival any ill judged appointment made by Fenty. Will be on short odds to be the first manager sacked next season (Assuming he doesnt get fired during pre-season for having a go at a player).

Genius or disaster, with no grey area I would think.

For what it’s worth, I think that he might well become a good manager. This on the assumption that he has got rid of most or all of his d8ckhead tendencies. By his own admission he has been an idiot in the past, but he always seems to talk a good game when on the tv and radio and his excellent (imho) autobiography showed he has ambitions to be a manager, that he has learnt from a number of managers he has been under, and seems to have a good grasp of the tactics of the game.

On the other hand, he is a d8ckhead 😊

I think the d8ckhead wins

The problem will be that he is always right, he thinks. Roy Keane had the same problem. People like Barton and Keane find it hard to take on board that somebody else could be right and they react with volatility and sometimes violence. Either Barton will have to change his ways dramatically or sign a team of yes-men and hope his chairman is a yes-man too.

Fleetwood aren't the only club taking a massive chance by appointing a manager with no experience, it must be the  the way to go.
Bit of a hot head but huge number of games at the top level as a player and has been a good pundit  and has talked a lot of sense on Talksport since his bookie grassed him up.

Think ,that MJ has a lot more nous and sobriety than most other young managers around.
Next year will be fine irrespective of what happens this season.
