Thinking of having a look around on Sunday for a new (used) car.

Any recommendations or makes/models to avoid.

Budget will be around £8-9k.

I’ve got a VW Golf 1.6 Les and it’s a brilliant car, it’s a real workhorse and I’ve had no problems at all with it, I think with your budget you’d get a 63/64 plate for that.

Skoda are good value Les they had a bad name but have been under VW for years now and sre very reliable,

I have a 1.6 TDi  and I am more than pleased,

Asked me this question last year and I would have said go for a Nissan.

I'd recommend a KIA Venga, not the fastest engine, but higher driving position, nice compact and easy to park, and a lot of room.

Highly recommend Motordepot.

Had 2 cars from them now, good price, and good customer service.

Clutch went on the 1st one after 10 month and they sorted it for me
