When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Another prickly interview from Jolley. Seems a very frustrated figure at the minute.

Can you blame him? His the tactical awareness to get us out of this mess but the players are too male masturbation to do what he wants them to

He is trying to stay calm and positive, which is the right thing to do at the moment. He would be hammered if he came out and said "well that's it we're doomed".

It must be hard when you see the same thing happening again and again. Poor balls into the box.  Strikers not getting any shots away, silly free kicks in dangerous area's time after time.  Failure to defend the second ball at set pieces.
I don't blame the RH interviewers, they are doing their job.  But feck me, they do tend to state the obvious.  Of course MJ knows he has inherited a bunch of @rse.  Of course he is trying to sort it out.  I notice though that the post match interviews with MJ seem to be a bit more direct and slightly aggressive.  I get the feeling he has told JF/RH he can handle whatever is thrown at him.  And whilst slightly rattled of late (who wouldn't be), I think he's doing quite a good job of it.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I don't feel he's getting rattled at all. He's handling the interviews really well.
I think the onus is on Burns and co to find a new question - something relevant or interesting because, try as they might, they are never going to get him to say 'Yes it is a quality issue', which is pretty much at the heart of every repetitious question.

Jolley is clever and articulate. They're not going to trip him up.
The questions about defending set pieces are fair game and Jolley sort of admits that there have been some problems, but rightly stresses the high number that are dealt with well. The issue of giving away cheap or silly free kicks is a given, but again, Jolley is never going to say this is the result of having poor players, which, of course, we all know it is. Likewise the 'quality in midfield' issue. Everyone knows this is a stark and costly fact, but admitting that on air will only undermine our cause. We should pause and reflect how difficult it must be for Jolley to manage someone else's below par players, and to keep defending them when their weaknesses and flaws are laid bare every week.

I'm sort of the opinion that there isn't too much point in conducting a pre match and a post match interview every week. There are no new questions and no new answers really. It's all been said.

Do you know what frustrates me more, that Jolley has to get slightly aggressive just to put RH in their place!..why on earth burnsy feels the need to put Jolley in the hot seat every fecking interview is beyond me, my god RH give the bloke a break!!..
Yes, ask what he can do turn the fortunes of the club around
Yes, ask what the players need to do better at set pieces
Yes, ask where he thinks the goals may come from
NO - stop trying to get Jolley to admit our squad is crud...jeez man, any one with half football brain can see that and we do not need it rammed down our throat at every post match interview conducted by Mr Burns!!

Thing is managers do affect the players.Without tempting fate I feel Jack Lester would fill me with more passion though than Jolley does if I was a player when listening to the pair of them in interviews.

Think having played the game helps as well.

I think it's down to Burnsy's deep-seated desire to put some Q's to John Fenty and tear a few strips off him on behalf of both the fans and RH. That won't happen so he seems to be taking it out on the one GTFC employee who tries to explain what's going on. I expected a bit more subtlety from Burnsy, such as asking about the mess MJ inherited, how did it get like that, what sort of setup sell their top scorer in the middle of a goal drought etc.

Not that i am jolley protagonist but i have and will always maintain that we needed someone with GTFC in their heart and blood to gets us out the poo.

Give me John Mcdermott and Craig Disley, then you would see passion coming out their mouth like a dragon breathing fire.

But alas, this was my dream, or maybe just a fantasy and for now, we have to give MJ the chance to back his own ambition and hope it does not outweigh his ability.
