I don't understand why you would play Rose ahead of MacAllister?

Me neither. Though Rose is our top scorer, not that it's saying much. Plus Berrett got our last goal from open play.

What a state we have fallen to.

Have to say the constant selection of Berrett makes me worry about MJ (as I have every other Manager who picked him). The continuation of not selecting McAllister is a major mystery and one that completely baffles me and pisses me off.

Easily our best midfielder against Coventry - we were noticeably worse after he went off. Why hasn't he played since then? Chronically injured? Discipline issues? Jolley doesn't rate him? Hope Burnsey can coax an explanation out after the match.

I would love to know who will race onto any through balls, Vernon slower and with a wider turning circle than a fully laden oil tanker on the humber. This must be the slowest group of players we have ever put on a the pitch at the same timein the history of the club. Never know we might bore them to sleep.

Can see what he's thinking, like Pete says it's parking the bus. Vernon is about our only striker who can actually hold the ball up which will be necessary but we'd better not be putting in the air cause he doesn't win any. As for supporting the striker, well maybe we're not thinking that far up the pitch and we've literally gone to try and get a point.

So what's the plan? Desperately hang in there for 70 mins with an ultra defensive line up, then bring on what attacking threat we have for the last few minutes and nick a 1-0?

No idea why McAllister has disappeared yet again, bizarre.

A fact MJ acknowledged saying it was when he took McAllister & Woolford off that we lost our shape, not against a defend at all costs approach today but please select the players best equipped to carry this out.

Very good.   with recently preventing the opposition from scoring with that free kick from the six yard box, they could all just line up on our goal line.

I'd imagine rose has been preferred to McAllister because he wants the holding midfielder to mark akinfenwa, and rose is bigger. Either way, whatever the team sheets says, I wouldn't have any confidence so let's see how it goes.

I'm past criticising the selection of any team we put out. Barring one or two, do any of them individually deserve to start in any League Two team line up?

In my head, I'm relying more on MJ coming up with a game plan that nicks us a point or two rather than any individual pulling something out of the bag..

Berrett obviously puts in the hours on the training field.

McAllister must be leaving tacks on the managers chair.

Its fine having Vernon holding it up but who does he then give it to with a team of defenders and defensive midfielders who rarely get near the opposing pen area anyway

He can pick who he likes, he's unsackable thanks to Slade (we'll still be blaming Slade in 2 or 3 years time - he will replace the ITV money as the thing we always quote for our shortcomings)

i hope playing too defensively doesn't play into Wycombe hands as they tend to lump it long to Akinwenwa who appears untouchable at time lol.

I'm frankly baffled with this selection today

Parking the bus I can understand but this is more or less handing the game to Wycombe

90+ minutes of them coming on to us is going to be too much to withstand imho, especially with our defensive frailties

I would love to be proved wrong ( love it, just love it) but to my mind there's only outcome today

Very few teams are well organised enough to successfully park the bus for a clean sheet.

Our players lack the ability and concentration to do it.

I think we will need to score to get anything out of this game, but where on earth will a goal come from with this line up?

Spot on Ron

We are just nowhere near good enough to hold back wave after wave of attacks for a full game

We might get away with it for a fair few minutes but expect us to cave in and then it will just have to be damage limitation

Just shuffling excrement.
What do people expect????

It’s an away game against a good side.
Let’s park the bus and see if we can hit em on the break 👊

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Seriously TAGG can you remember the last time we hit anyone on the break?

This is just going to be us trying to fend off pressure for 90+ minutes and hoping that Wycombe can't finish the chances they'll surely create

I don't understand why you would play Rose ahead of MacAllister?

Probably because the pitch is very heavy and players not selected cannot play two games in four days, with a big match to come on Saturday?

Gone for "old experienced heads" who maybe have shown they are up for the fight. Decided this is not the game to try to play open attacking football. Problem is, with old heads comes old bodies. Not even McSheffry makes it but maybe 2 games in 4 days is too much for him. Also think MJ has one eye on next week too where we certainly need a more attacking threat.

Not a great fan of Berrett, Rose or Vernon, but I suppose his options are limited, has to pack the midfield, and surely a damage limitation attempt against one of the most potent attacks in the league....a 4-4-2 and we could have got battered 4 or 5 nil....goal difference is likely to have an effect in whether we stay up, i'd liked to have seen MacAllister more, but he obviously doesn't rate him?

Great start Vernon. Two passes controlled neither and even passed one of them straight to their CB.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Rose has already managed to give the ball straight back to them with some shocking touches too. It's like watching a pub team.

Now he finally controls one on the edge of the area, misses the opportunity to pass it to Woolford running towards goal and then dribbles it out for a goal kick. What a player he is!

Regarding the inclusion of Rose, my guess is that he's in because he's our physically most powerful player and we're hoping he can have an influence (of sorts) on Akinfenwa at set pieces.

Just seen the team - and was thinking it was the most defensive team - on paper - ever to play for town - and then they go and score - Cloud 9.

Now there is something to defend - (at the moment)

This is just going to be us trying to fend off pressure for 90+ minutes and hoping that Wycombe can't finish the chances they'll surely create

BOOM 👍🏻

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

great stuff but I hope we don't sit back and try to hold on to 1-0, go for a second goal, its obvious now that we can score. I fear one might not be enough if we start to sit deep.

We keep giving stupid free kicks around the edge of the area away. They're going to score from one of the resulting goal mouth scrambles if we keep this up.

Cracking half. Great finish from Woolford. They’ve had a couple of good chances, but we’ve been really solid.
If we can put 2 good halves together it could be a massive day. Come on Town.

I know there's another half to play yet but...........

If the scores stay the same today a win next week at home to Chesterfield next Saturday would pretty much make us safe wouldn't it  ?

MJ can be one step ahead, if he makes an attacking substitution at half time - it will mess up Wycombe's belief for one way traffic in the second half.

Stay as it is, then the parked bus will need to be a double decker.

We seem to be a bit more careful in passing the ball forward (probably due to only having one forward playing) which is actually helping us play better and keep the ball.

Wycombe are a horrible team. Endlessly lumping it up into the box and then moaning at the referee if he doesn't give them a free kick or corner.

I like this Ref hes just getting on with it like with Fox and their player. No messing yellow for both of you and it stops right here.

So long as they don't get a penalty. Sitting back is dangerous in that respect - I still remember Wrexham at Wembley

If Rose would stop fouling in midfield where it doesn't matter this would be alot easier

James Berrett is a moron. The only time they threaten us is when we give away stupid free kicks on the edge of our area, so he goes and does just that, letting them score. I can't wait until he's out of the club.

Again that came from giving away a stupid free kick outside the box. It was half-cleared but then they kept the pressure up and won the corner from which they scored. Absolute shocking how we can't manage the basics.

All the good work undone by more excrement defending, no one at the back post for a corner and an easy finish for the unmarked player.

Don't worry Matt & Hooper up top 🤡😂🤡😂

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Not chucking it away. Getting spanked again. Only so much pressure a brittle defence can take after soaking up wave after wave of attack.  Won't be surprised if we crack and leak in 4 again.

He'd been our best outlet too. Vernon had offered nothing, but Hall-Johnson was at least acting a decent option on the counter.

What a male masturbator Rose is..

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Chesterfield must be loving this........all the crap teams around them losing.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Hes won two headers but apart from that hes had nothing to do anything with.

Went down in a challenge like a girl private.

We seriously have to get rid of most of this excrement whatever league we are in.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

So much hope at half time, but those defensive issues with set pieces cost us again

Will we ever learn not to give free kicks away in dangerous areas?

I never really thought we would go down but today has decided it for me. We just aren't going to beat Chesterfield in fact I can see us not getting another point. If only Fenty had got rid of Slade earlier and brought in an experienced man who was used to relegation fights, just expecting too much from Jolley.

I’m really disappointed and angry, we took the lead and fluffed it by giving them the impetus, why can’t we hold a lead, we had the chance to break away from the bottom two and give us confidence going into the Chesterfield game next week. 20 games without a win is fuc*ing embarrassing and this team need to stand up and be counted, theyve let the fans down big time.

The bottom line is Chris is that we just don't have the aptitude nor the attitude.... we basically have a team of losers who don't know how to break out of that mindset

I disagree, thats offensive to our very cherished, hard working and passionate none league team of the past

This is absolutely a football league team. Unfortunately its the worst of the football league. The dregs, the mercenaries and the players who probably should've retired or be playing at a lower level but think themselves too good to play for a none league team.

Appalling 2nd half, showed absolutely no ambition to get out of our half and thought we could soak them up for 45 minutes. Shocking marking, what the intercourse is he playing at with this weird marking?

Special mention for the 3 subs who were totally terrible. Matt was horrendous.

FFS just stop whinging this was always going to be a tough game and I reckon Wycombe know they’ve been in a much harder contest than they expected
I think the team is improving week by week under Jolley and if we play like we did today we will beat chesterfield and barnet
After watching that I’m really looking forward to my next game at Swindon

Play like we did today? We had 1 meaningful shot on target and havent won for 20 games how the hell can you see us winning 2 games?! Our defending is disgraceful, our midfield makes me want to throw myself off the findus and the forwards would miss the water if they fell out a boat.  The swuad the board the club its gone mate. Wake up to it it’ll be easier to accept it now than in may when its for real

We have a lousy bunch of inadequate players.

Up front we are incompetent. How often have we seen our players miss absolute sitters? Rose, Matt, Hooper. All totally useless in front of goal.

Our midfield is full of idiots. How many needless free kicks do we give away, often leading to goals. How often do we allow players a free run at the defence? How seldom do we make an incisive defence splitting, or even accurate pass from midfield?

Our defence is a shambles. How often do we allow free headers in the box, leave players unmarked, fail to react to the second ball?

The fact is that this squad is full of failures who just can't do the simple basic things right. They are totally useless,

This is  not based on today. Frankly I didn't expect a point. It's based on the last 20 games.

We have taken 4 points this year. I think this crowd are worse than the 2010 mob. They are totally shambolic.

I will be amazed if we stay up.  Only a collapse by Chesterfield can save us.

Harder game, they didnt need to work just hoof it up and wait for our defence to crumble, could have finished 5 or 6 - 2 but for some Macca saves.

Agreed. We are not down yet. We are home to Chesterfield who are 4 points behind us and a win will probably be enough. They are below us because they are worse than us however bad we are. If its a draw we still have a home tie against Barnet who are even worse. First goal today for ages. First win next week for ages

BURNS!  FFS! It's bad enough for the listener that we have lost again. We don't need you to do a Paxman, repeating questions already answered. Once is enough.

At least he got the balls to ask the questions ?

What do you want him to ask ? What did you have for dinner ?

I must admit this jolley is either trying to shield his players or is deluded , not sure which yet.

How can the manager say he is happy with that defending?

You misunderstand my comment. By being repetitive Burns wastes opportunities for further questions. Of course, he was right to question the defensive frailties.

How can Jolley be clueless seriously ? These aren’t his players things don’t change over night, we will judge him next season when most of this squad has F**ked off elsewhere and he brings his own in and tbh if he brings players in like Andrew fox then we could be okay but we will see not his fault we have players who are only here for the wages each week

We're on our way back, we’ll was now on our way back to non league 👍🏻

It’s not his fault that we are in this shocking position. Is he making any positive impact on getting us out of it so far? I think it’s hard to argue we’ve improved under him. I feel a bit sorry for him, he’s come into a team woefully in trouble and he’s really struggling. For starters he needs to get us man marking again.

It begs the question whether we should’ve been looking at a big character with experience to keep us up.

The players are definitely being shielded in some way ( not sure by who ) as that's both games over the Easter period where there's been no post-match radio interview with one of our players
