Any news on these 2 cos I can’t see where the goals are coming from otherwise , bambi on ice Matt certainly isn’t going to deliver them. Is it me but Matt looks like he’s got some sort of balance problem his legs seem to work in a opposite type of way to how they should

Wilks was in contention for Saturdays game but didn't quite make it so should be available for this weekend. Jackson not too far behind him if I recall.
Certainly time for a shakeup in the attack, a DVD of the last few games would show that never mind the terrifying stats

Matt is a shocking player, he takes almost a second to react to anything and it's lost by the time his legs move. Did anyone see him sheilding the ball, all the way to the line? He just let it roll out and gave them a goal kick! Never seen anything like it. His second touch is invariably a tackle, I am no pro but I could watch him for ten minutes before deciding he was a carthorse and incapable of playing at this level. What the intercourse was Slade and the scouting 'network' thinking?

Anyway, I am convinced Wilks could be the answer. He has pace and trickery, if he is fit he should play and not wide. Play him centrally as he is a centre forward, no more square pegs in round holes.

Matt would probably play better with a someone up front with him, as he won't score you many goals...

Best not to play him at all then as he can't hold the ball up, won't create anything and despite his size can't head the ball. In short, he's flipping shite.

If he’s not gonna be the guy to stick his toe/head on the end of something and get a goal like we first thought, he shouldn’t play.

For all his faults, Vernon can at least control the ball. Maybe have him up top with Wilks if he’s fit.

intercourse knows.

I mentioned this about Matt in another thread over the weekend.

I had a real close look at him when the game was dead and buried. We all knew it anyway but he is a real shocker; he runs like he is on black ice, on his tiptoes and even stopping seems beyond him. Yet I remember when we  signed him and he played at Accrington he was a revelation - chasing down and causing a right nuisance of himself.

So whats gone wrong? Something must have happened just before Christmas behind the scenes; we have been absolutely dire and I don't think we are even trying that hard to be honest. There doesn't seem to an ounce of fight in the team at all, apart from the superficial ones of talking to the press or pumping a fist at the crowd. The new manager hasn't seemed able to get them to roll their sleeves up let alone play any better, and the very least I expected was to be pressing the opposition from front to back in an effort to get us out of trouble.
