Can you build a successful team when the players come and go through our revolving door, many of them on loan. I have lost track of the number we have had in the last few seasons and to be honest I am hard pressed to remember those who have been here this season. Why is it better players do not want to play for us or those we manage to find want to leave at the first opportunity? It cannot all be down to managers as we have had plenty of those too. Is it Grimsby? Is it the negativity that easily comes to the surface? Is it financial? I don't' believe it is the latter, as someone has pointed out take a look at the club who are top of our league, good luck to them. No club has any devine  right  to be successful but football is a team game where players need a collective sense of belonging, a good work ethic, a blend of skills and desire to achieve things together. Finally, when going gets tough as at present, you need fighters and battlers with a never say die attitude. Where are they now? I know he is not the most gifted player but a few more with spirit of Summerfield would be real handy. It is muck and bullets time but who has it in them to win at all costs? I really don't think we have them. I hope I am proven wrong.

The club is rotten from the top Oldun.
That permeates downwards unfortunately.
The changing rooms (unless updated since I looked round 4 years ago) are
a total disgrace to professional football. How any player comes out of them upbeat I’ll never know.
Until we have a total change in management and I mean top management, I sincerely doubt it will change.  As said in other posts. Plenty of promising players seem to lose enthusiasm and drive at GTFC. Hopefully MJ can help to address this for now.  But something seems to be stopping players having a long spell here.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I take your point, but every club uses the loan system, not just us. Most football players these days play for 10+ clubs. We've had some brilliant loan players over the years. It's not the system at fault, it's the people using it.

The days of making 2-3 summer signings are long gone, they will never return.

In the old days a manager like AB could take a group of players and spend years working with them. Now you need to know the market. PH does, I am hoping MJ does too. Football has completely changed in the last 30 years.

You could be right Rob but you do mot sign more loan players than you are allowed in the match day squad,

Unless you are Slade or Fenty/
