McKeown, Davies, Clarke (c), Collins, Berrett, Clifton, Cardwell, Fox, Woodford (Woolford i presume that means), Matt, Hall-Johnson.

Subs -  Killip, Rose, McSheffrey, Mills, Jaiyesimi, Vernon, Dembele

Not sure how that 11 will line up ?
4-4-2 ?
Davies and Hall Johnson on the right  ?  Fox and Woolford on the left ?

I'm not too worried by that to be honest, I'm quite confident he has a clear plan of how he wants to go about the game and that probably isn't going to involve a lot of flare- win at all costs approach

Blimey. 442 with RHJ on the right wing? 532 with RHJ at centre back? 532 with Davies at centre back in a Matthias Sammer type role?

442 with RHJ on the wing?

Time for Cardwell to step up and prove he’s good enough.

And it’s a big nod to Clifton’s ability if MJ trusts him enough already in a central 2.

Think thread title is abit harsh tbf.

Quite happy to trust and give Jolley the benefit here. He clearly has a better understanding of what he’s doing than previous managers.

I’m pretty sure Clifton is in the centre though, that’s about all we can make out other than we are playing at least two centre backs!

Woolford and Vernon back in the team/squad is what shudders me...when i popped the title in i was puzzling over there being 3 full backs in the starting 11 and how that might be deployed....as Davies was deployed in a couple of positions last week i wonder if he will actually be in front of RHJ ...i think RHJ should be the further forward to exploit Lincolns narrow shape.

guess we will see.

No probs with RHJ anywhere on rightside but there must be some unwritten law that DJ and Cardwell are not allowed to start together. DJ can turn players and win free kicks. Woolford?

Nothing wrong with Vernon in a game away at Lincoln. It’s when you have to bring him on when you are chasing a game it’s a worry.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

Think it’ll be a 433 with Davies in the middle to match them up. Can’t beleive Mills isn’t in over Hall Johnson.

He'll pick the team based on what he sees in training and what shape he feels will get a result. Let's face it, we would probably all take a point and move on.

Interesting. Four forward players on the bench. A few options there. Presumably GM  may come on as an impact sub at some point.

Glad to see Cardwell starting.  If we see him and Macsheffrey together later on there might be some movement up front for a change.

Hall-Johnson scored a load of goals the other season playing as a winger/striker so not perhaps a surprising selection. Will add a bit more pace in attacking areas hopefully.

I wonder whether it might behall Johnson at right back and Davies in central midfield. Fox is quite a big lad isn't he ?if so then could be 3at the back.either way Davies needs to be central midfield or else it'll get blown away
Incidentally on mills .I know everyone likes him but whenever I've seen him his distribution is distinctly average.I've started to this k of him as a slightly better Bradley wood and I get the impression that jolley wants good passers which is maybe why mills is out of the loop

TBF I think that's as good as it could be, give or take.

Experience is key with a big crowd in a derby, Rhead is probably the only CF who won't outpace our two, but hopefully they might be wise to his "tricks"

Well if you think that team is average,

Jolley has improved them already.
