The Town boss started with the team news and reported that there are no new injury concerns - Leeds United loan forward Mallik Wilks may come back into contention.

Jolley confirmed that on-loan forward Charles Vernam will miss the rest of the season through injury. He said: "He’s got a knee injury that requires some surgery, so he’s going to remain with Derby. He’s going to pop back and be around us a little bit, I think he’s actually coming to the game on Saturday.

"He’s a popular member of the squad, so we’ve said we’d like to see him around the group whenever we can, but in terms of his fitness, he probably won’t feature for us again this season, which is sad because from the games that I saw, Charles was excellent and was a player I was looking forward to working with."

On City.

Jolley said: "They’re a very good team. What Danny, Nicky and everybody at Lincoln has done over the last couple of years is remarkable in many ways, and I’ve got a lot of respect for them.

"They’re a strong team, they’ve got a very well established and distinct style of play that they execute very well. It’s up to us to respond to the challenge and come up with ways for us to hurt them as well.

I’m looking forward to taking the challenge on, it’s going to be a big game, and that’s you come into football for these big occasions.”

His comments on Lincoln suggest he's watched a fair bit of Lincoln, knows exactly and in detail how they play, and will set us up accordingly.

Clearly knows Lincoln’s system so hopefully comes up with a doable plan , I hope he’s made it clear to the players to keep their cool and not react to the goading.

I would think with Imps huge investment in the non playing side they now have undersoil heating and an inflatable cover to keep the pitch in pristine condition

What.. and when we were doing well, and they were languishing, our fans didn't do the same? I do find the snippy comments about Lincoln and their fans kind of amusing - it just makes us look bitter and cynical, just because we've had a poor few years since promotion.

Interesting comment about Charlie Verman. Loan player out for the rest of the season but coming to the game tomorrow and a “popular member of the squad”.

Would that suggest MJ will be looking to get him back on a “season long” next term?
