Looking forward to seeing how Dembele does in presumably more of a free role.

Well.....at least he has shook it up. Asking alot of Davies maybe if that lines up like a 3-5-2 ...but with Mills and RHJ on the bench maybe just run your legs your off and we will take you off when you are spewing.

Is McAllister injured then? Not even on the bench. I'm also concerned that it looks like Davies is at wing-back and as much as I think he's a great professional, the last time he played there was at Pompey and it was awful.

No cm's on the bench. What has mcallister gotta do to even make the bench. Like that line up though with dembele given freedom and less chance of being man marked.

Thankfully MJ can tell already that woolford and vernon offer nothing already.

Maybe people need to accept there's a reason McCallister isn't being picked if our third manager this season has chosen not to include him? Maybe the injuries have taken their toll.

Yeah that's a reasonable explanation. I'm just going off the fact that he himself said he was fit recently but you could be  right and he's not the player he once was.

looks like Davies and Fox will be asked to work hard, considering two like for like replacements on the bench.  Same goes up top.  The 6 in CM and central defence better not get injured tho!

As I gave mentioned previously when McCallister wasn't picked, is his contract based more on appearances than a weekly wage, hence Fenty is still picking the team!!!

Davies is not young anymore but still a class  player, Fox maybe not 100% up to speed yet,

So Mills AND H-J   on when they tire I would think.

There is a difference between a man saying he is 100% fit,

AND

Being match fit, we have so many fitness coaches and managers ect that monitor a players actual fitness that although he thinks he is fit, he isn't.

He needs a run of games to be match fit and  he has not done that for one reason or another.

Feel sorry for the Vale fans looks like another case of fans are criminals as two coach loads escorted by police riot squads down to the ground

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

And don't we normally moan and slag off the manager when Berrett is picked? (or is it only when Wilko picks him)

Just like Town to win now I'm away on a short break, not that I would be complaining.

Take off Berret put Davis in there.
Berret & Rose CM no wonder we can't win a game.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Whats the atmosphere like.....any disgruntled fans?

Our biggest problem is goals.  No one really scoring up top and no one contributing from midfield.  C'mon town this is killing me ☺

The Lincoln game on BBC sport website doesn't move past 26 mins, is it them?, or has something happened?

I can see us biting our nails well gone five because it looks like the kick off at Chesterfield was delayed.

Ah, I see it was a delay during the game.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

They had to call in an air ambulance because a fan has collapsed and was given CPR

Simply dreadful first half with an appalling goal given away. Making Vale look world beaters. Could be 3 down easily but for a great save by Macca and a post (I think - actually thought that one was in)
No energy in midfield, no goal threat whatsoever, no movement. Nothing but effort and that alone is not good enough.
Truly truly shocking.

Wow just wow . Players are strolling through this game ... what has slade done ..... 37 year nearly to the day since my first town game . I feel broken watching this ... it's alright the fans being all town but these players certainly don't give a intercourse . Rose , Matt, Dembele , just don't look interested

Another appalling performance. Clarke, Berrett & Rose are criminally bad, Davies can't even make a 5 yard pass & this Fox lad somehow isn't even an improvement on Dixon. Massive gaps between midfield & the isolated Matt, who's again showing he can't function as a lone target man effectively, and Dembele is still struggling to find an end product. Only players up to standard are Clifton & McKeown (made an incredible save to keep it at 1-0 after the defence parted to let their lad in for a free shot). Suliman hasn't been too bad either.

Anyway, we're getting relegated no doubt about it.

Jolley hasn't instilled any work ethic yet then, I know he's stuck with Slade's squad and couldn't turn them into footballers given 7 years never mind 7 days but I had hoped a new man might just have spurred a few on and he might have kicked the odd bottom

For MJ this is telling him alot about his players he has inherited.  I dont like it IF other people have alot of influence on whos played well etc...i hope this isnt the case.  I reckon it will be a different line up in the next game.

For the 1st time I really am seeing the threat of relegation as a real possibility.

Forget 5 point gap if things stay the same, the lack of quality in this team is worst I have seen in 45 years of watching Town. Literally. No exaggeration

Slade has taken a mid table side and turned them into this.

If we go down, that could be it for another 6 years.

MJ a promising new manager but not a bloody magician 🎩

How Berrett is still getting game time is beyond me, shocking player, players have no imagination what to do in final 3rd, the calamity at the end in front of goal magnifying how poor these players are and Jolly needs to bring in at least 3 new faces to inject pace and guile into this poor poor side.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

But you often get a honeymoon period when the team play out of their skins to impress the new manager. Unfortunately with all the loaness this doesnt happen.
I was upbeat about this game this morning. When I parked up at  2.45 I was full of dread and headed home instead. Fod once a good decision

Motivation is about getting the most out of someone, making them dig deep down to give everything they've got. Sadly the vast majority of this squad doesn't have anything more to give, they're just shite.

Ah yes, I suspect the most common comments later today will be "he needs to be given time to rebuild the team" and  "We have to be patient" I'm sorry but we are being sucked into a relegation battle we don't have time to rebuild or be patient.

Reading the Port Vale forum before the game I got the impression some of their fans thought a good portion of their were crap and some were talking of wanting Aspin out.

Yes well done Macca,

Now can you go up for a corner and score a goal,

Because none of the useless ones up there know how.

Even though he shouldn't be put in that position in the first place. It's like some players take delight in making sure we lose.

Thats not the case at all its simply that Chesterfields results are just as important as Towns more so in fact, if we can't win its vital they don't either - buffoon

Just finished my humble pie, great turn and shot from Berrett, felt we deserved a share of the points however, we need to press more.

Agree when was the last time we got a last minute equaliser or winner ?

Not a Jolley good start but a Jolley decent one in the end.

He was better then Dixon, but so is a 1 legged deer. Looked fit and got a full 90 minutes bombing it up and down the pitch.

His techniqual ability was a bit so so his crosses especially, but he hasn't played with the lads before and isn't match sharp so theres time for that to grow.

But for a 97th min equaliser by Crewe, we would have moved up the table. Not too bad all round considering we were outplayed. Another point in front of the bottom and another round of games gone, Let's hope we can keep our noses in front. We were down to 3rd bottom at one stage today.

Oh I know. Clearly was deserved. We were walking through Cleethorpes before the match and there were no signs of trouble when I posted that.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

To be fair a draw seemed fair given Maccas commanding performance and the penno save, We fought tooth and nail to get that draw and were on top near the end shame the long delay due to crowd trouble took away our momentum.

Fantastic atmosphere form both sets of fans thought Davis had too much to do as a wing back he can't get past his man the crosses were not good either.
