The recycling boxes are an issue but I find if you squash the cans flat, undo plastic bottle lids and squash them and replace lids, place the newspaper box on top of the plastic bottle box then lastly the glass box on top .then get those elastic cycle luggage thingy bobs with the hooks at either end and connect them together,it works a treat and the bin men just pop them in the box for me to reuse next time .no blowy about rubbish !

The government want people to blame their local council for the problems caused by the budgets being slashed. It's a deliberate choice to try and avoid blame for cutting back on things such as children's services, other social care and the like that, actually, most people are quite happy to see money spent on. Unfortunately, plenty of people fall for the ruse, hence the complaints about rubbish on the streets.

Oddly enough, the poorest areas which are more reliant on government spending (more likely to vote Labour) have had to suffer much greater larger cuts than wealthier areas less reliant on government spending (more likely to vote Conservative). Gosh, what a surprise! IFS link below for further information:

Tells you all you need to know about the Tories that their claims that "We're all in it together" aren't actually true.

Regarding the recycling boxes, we got one of the bigger orange ones for plastics and foil from the council and it holds a good deal more than the original ones. Without that, we would really struggle! Bottles and paper/cardboard aren't an issue. On the other hand, as our little lad is still in nappies, the bin tends to be jam packed after a couple of weeks. Without them, wouldn't really be a problem.

Government funding cuts to local councils will reach an estimated 77% by 2020. How can that not be the fault of the government? It's a direct result of these heinous austerity measures.

It would help if the UK wasn't in trillions of debt because of leftists policies.

Wow, when did the Conservatives become, 'leftists'? That's a new one:

http://www.taxresearch.org.uk/.....e-uks-national-debt/

Anyway, scaremongering about the national debt at the current levels is just something the Tories and their chums have been promulgating to help them continue in their quest to redistribute wealth upwards. Very effectively, as well.

Who owns the national debt? Well, mostly us, in the form of UK pension funds and investors, so repayments fund pensions and are paid back into our economy in any case:

https://www.economicshelp.org/blog/1407/economics/who-owns-government-debt/

Approximately one quarter of our national debt is owned by the Bank of England after it was created by QE. Now, I know the BoE is theoretically 'independent' but anybody believes that the government doesn't tell it what to do is living in cloud cuckoo land. How many know, for instance, that the interest payments from QE go towards paying off the national debt?

This applies to the UK, the UK has a national debt of £1.56 trillion. We have a shadow government wanting to ignore this and spend, spend and spend. The 1.56 trillion debt is only growing, who is going to pay for this? We have given the EU 50 billion annually for decades, given millions in foreign aid. Does the UK government know that they service their citizens? This is why Brexit happened and many people are turning against Globalism.

Like what the great Thomas Sowell said, "No matter how much people on the left talk about compassion, they have no compassion for the taxpayers."

The United Kingdom is an Orwellian dream. Telford grooping gang scandal another 1,000 white girls groped by men in the Pakistani community. BBC, nothing.

Two conservatives and a classical liberal have been banned from the UK for speaking facts. While ISIS and jihadists after having a holiday in Syria are allowed to preach against British police and institutions and get free council homes and welfare.

We need to reignite the British patriots of old and revolt against our government for the sake of liberty. Take the thoughts of Gladstone, Locke and John Stuart Mill and remember what made our nation so special. Because ANITFA, Labour's momentum alongside the socialists and neo-communists, also the leftists conservative party don't care.

So what should we do? We should become a lower-tax, lower regulated economy and gain the economic benefits. Trump has done this and now the African American employment rate is at the highest in US history. Also need to actually have a border force and an immigration policy that is rationally sound.

Finally Brits need to start having a total re-think on our political foundations and history. The Government, with all its bureaucrats, cannot run a farm let alone a country. That is why LESS Big Government always leads to prosperity and freedom, whilst Big Government always leads to tyranny and dysphoria and a despotic society. We need a British Bill of Rights, with amendments so we can actually have a basis to defend our rights for freedom of speech etc. Heaven for bid keep our unknown but historic Gun rights (how are we suppose to revolt against a tyrannical government without it?).

Okay rant over

Some twit has dumped a sofa on Scaffa Top last night/today. Just how lazy have you got to be to make the effort to put a sofa into a vehicle and then drive somewhere to fly tip it rather than take it to Moody Lane? Utter plebs.

Yeesh. What is it with the right-wing enthusiasts here that they expect me to sit and watch 30 flipping minute videos full of clever-sounding claptrap? I could read a transcript of the same thing in a few minutes - in the case of this Molyneux alt-right bloke, just a couple of minutes because he's so long-winded with his staged gasps and sighs (he studied drama and went to theatre school, apparently). Whackier even than Ayn Rand and he's a flipping goldbugger. My brain hurts after listening to most of this video and the fact that some people watch this stuff for fun and find it somehow educational is staggering - a melange of fact, fiction and sheer wrongheadedness.

So, for this video (which I've skipped through), the first thing this free-market, anti-government agitator talks about is the risk from booming corporate debt. There certainly is risk here, though mostly for the corporations selling and those buying the debt. Now, during his critique of this increase in corporate debt (which is partially valid), he somehow blames the US government for the free-market forces pumping up this bubble! This is in the first couple of minutes of his video - a huge conflation which just doesn't make any sense at all. Blaming the government for corporations acting foolishly when you're an anti-government uber-free-marketeer is about as nonsensical as it gets.

Next up (all in the first 4 or 5 minutes, mind) is the usual anti-intellectual criticism of further education so beloved by some of the whackiest right-wingers. In the US (and over here, of course), student debt is now rocketing due to the huge fees charged by the Universities and Colleges. Now, apparently this isn't the fault of the market either, but instead because the US government backs the student loans! And most of these students shouldn't be going anyway because they aren't clever enough, or are indoctrinating themselves to left-wing propaganda and making themselves less employable! Of course, Mr. Molyneux wouldn't have had to pay such huge student fees back when he was at college studying acting and history and the like. I'm not quite sure who he thinks will be the Doctors/Engineers/Scientists in his brave new world given that the right-wing governments no longer fund such people through University.

The increasing US Government debt he later whinges about has increased so greatly because of the vast tax-cuts implemented by right-wing free-marketeer Ronald Reagan, later doubled-down by GWB and now trebled down by Trump whose Corporate tax cuts will massively increase the US deficit.

It may surprise anybody who has read, well, pretty much any news over the past 30 years or so that the neoliberal movement we've seen in government (notably in the US and UK) is apparently a huge 'leftist' plot who are intent on forcing communist dictatorship on the world! I'd imagine that would be a surprise to the likes of Thatcher, Reagan, GWB and Blair, not to mention the many hugely wealthy right-wingers who own the media and whose share of the wealth spirals ever-upwards.

By the way, let me just say anybody who uses the word 'leftist' in a serious context is a complete nincompoop (ah, swearfilter - the word I am trying to use rhymes with 'cluckwit') as far as I'm concerned. Any offence caused completely intentional if you're getting me to waste time responding to rubbish such as this video.

As I mention, I've not watched the whole thing because it was just a crazily banal smorgasbord of far-right nonsense (did he get on to how everything was a global Jewish conspiracy - that seems the market he is aiming at?).

I'm not sure what else he imagines up in this video, but I think you can probably learn all you need to know about Mr. Molyneux from this quote on his Wiki page. Anybody who can come up with something as ridiculously preposterous as this doesn't deserve to have you waste any of your time watching/listening to his hammily-acted videos:

Quoted Text
"If we could just get people to be nice to their babies for five years straight, that would be it for war, drug abuse, addiction, promiscuity, sexually transmitted diseases, ... Almost all would be completely eliminated, because they all arise from dysfunctional early childhood experiences, which are all run by women."

Yep, it was them there women who are to blame for the world's ills.
