Does seem very odd. Most of the reserves today played in the under 18's three days ago, yet fringe first team players are not involved.

We have about 130 senior pros on the books and none of them play for the reserves against decent opposition( except McAllister ) why wouldn’t you give some of these lads run out

Perhaps there has been a game somewhere else on the quiet.

The Club see some of the Youth as vital to future plans and want to maximise their development in what is left of the season.

This is crazy! Surely to God we should have used this game to get ideas across to the squad members (and some current first teamers) in a match situation against a team that would have given us a good workout.

Some of those squad players haven't had a competitive run out for weeks. What an opportunity missed.

I get the joke, but this is certainly not the time to be worrying about youth players who have no chance of helping us in the run in.

Sam, I get the feeling from your posts that you bleed black & white so fair play to you for that.

Whilst appreciating the point you make I think the query is why are the “fringe” players not getting game time so they can demonstrate their worth a starting spot, even Collins could have benefited from an hours run out.

I would concur with another poster who suggests that we must have a behind closed doors match taking place hence the absence of Clifton, Cardwell et al.

The other question is given the latter why would McAllister be the only member of the first team squad in the team?
