Cambridge United v Notts County
Crewe Alexandra v Exeter City
Barnet v Carlisle United

Crewe can go above us tonight with a win, so an Exeter win and a Carlisle win too tonight would be good.

It says something when were relying on other teams to lose!!

It's not been that good since we relied on Luton being deducted 30 points to be fair.

Much better if Exeter are thrashed, come to the BP demoralised, and we scrape a lucky win against them on Saturday. Morale and confidence then soars, and we go on a winning run to ensure survival and happy fans!

Just a thought........

Macclesfield tearing it up at Tranmere now - 4-1! That's an incredible showing considering Tranmere's recent home form.

If we replicate the last 2 games in these final 12 we will get 3 points and I’m certain we’ll go down. Beat Port Vale, Chesterfield and Barent ans job’s a good ‘un.

I  think we are in grave danger. I think Barnet will go down but Chesterfield could easily rally. 4 wins needed I think which looking at our team will take a miracle but here's hoping. 4 wins after 13 without one will be very hard. The acute goal shortage is a killer. Matt needs dropping and I would go for it against Exeter as we cannot keep a clean sheet. Berret out , Osbourne out, Woolford in the stands, Dixon even further away. If Wilkinson puts the same team out as last time I would dismiss him before kick off. Bring Clifton in as the invisible man would have more of an impact than Berrett. Anybody at left back except Dixon. Yes I am furious with this

Chesterfield have won 7 and drawn 6 all season. What makes you think they will suddenly make up three wins on us? They have Swindon on Saturday, so just as tough a game as us.

How on Earth are Chesterfield in the mire?  It wasn't so long ago that they were poaching Jon Nolan from us and calling us 'tinpot' on their forum.  They're a well funded club, aren't they?

We were hardly world-beaters before we hit this terrible run, so to still be nine points clear is a mark of how poor this division is.

Our current top scorer is Mitch Rose on 5. We average under one goal a game across the WHOLE season. Bearing these things in mind, how we're not closer to the bottom two is quite difficult to fathom.

I still think either Barnet or Chesterfield will catch us.
I wish we did not have to play either of them because both will beat us.
Still feeling we are doomed.
Everything is wrong at the moment.

Based on what? Think that is understandable fear talking. Not saying it can't happen, but we are still in the box seat.

Worked out even better than our survival that Exeter win. Tipped Lincoln out of the play offs and X'ter have got a game in hand.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Lincoln are going to just miss out on the play offs

They don’t have enough quality in numbers

Their Jan signings haven’t been that good

Lincolnshire derby is less than a month away.  Their form has been slightly patchy of late so you never know.  The game will probably mean something at both ends of the table.

After Newport last season I'm not writing off anyone else just yet, however unlikely it may be.

Would be great to have the new guy in place and some real optimism brought about by attacking football and goals,  all in time to generate a buzz for the Lincoln game.
Be great to just look forward to a game full stop, actually.

Helpful though these results are, the fact remains that 36 points is not enough to stay up.

That said, I don't think we will need to hit the magic 50 point mark. I think 46 might be enough. Barnet are on 26 and it's hard to see them adding another 20 from their remaining games. Chesterfield have a better chance, but they remain in poor form and their next three games are against Swindon, Exeter and Lincoln. I wouldn't expect many points from that lot.

We still have it in our own hands. the games against Barnet and Chesterfield are crucial. Win those and we are strong favourites to stay up. Lose them and I think it's game over.

Having seen the debacle on Saturday, the team Wilkinson sent out is not good enough to stay up.  I'd revert to a back four and bring in Davies. Collins to replace Osbourne,  Rose to replace Berret, or better still bring Clements back or play MacAllister if fit.  Drop Matt. Start wit Vernum and Hooper up front with Wilkes and DJ wide.    I think that line up would get us some points.

It was enough the season York and Dagenham went down. Despite being completely crap for months, the fact there are still 6 teams below us shows how poor the league is this year. Everyone keeps mentioning Chesterfield and Barnet, but there are four other teams below us as well. Are they all going to overtake us? Crewe have already lost 21 games and blew their game in hand tonight.

It's the Grimsby reaper at work. Hartlepool called us tinpot last season, and where are they now?

Although good results point wise, has anyone noticed how the teams below us know how to score goals? All it needs is the odd 1 0 win here and their against our odd 0 0 to catch us.

We won’t go down this season, we are poor but as I’ve said before there are two teams that are worse, thankfully. Sure we need a few more points but there is no way Barnet or chesterfield are going to catch 9 points up on us plus the goal difference. There is also the added safety net of the other teams below us too. They are just as bad if not worse than us at the moment, that’s why they are below us . I’m not being complacent, I’m being realistic.
