Askey's not a bad shout for me, experienced, good man manager and maybe looking to move onto the next challenge.

Can't get too hung up on the lack of 'success' in these potential applicants, go for a conference promotion winner and you'll end up with Mark Cooper.

The problem is that looking in it's not going to really boost a CV if we stay up - we're 8 or 9 points clear, we should in theory stay up comfortably. However if you are McCall or Rosler and you take it and we go down then you've really damaged your reputation and future job prospects. If they take it and do keep us up then what? Not much of a budget, no squad, poor facilities, relatively high expectations. Sounds a dream job!

Spoke to Skybet earlier and they told me it’s based on how they view the betting market for this rather than any knowledge.

To be honest I had never heard of him until last week, and whether he would be a good catch or not who knows? Nothing has been confirmed either way though, has it?

I'd not heard of him either. Not confirmed no, and there doesn't seem to be any rumours of any sort about who it may be, if anyone.

I have had to google a few of the shortlists made up (yes - made up) by the bookies. Rodley - what you describe is almost like a devalued product.

That's a massive sigh of relief all round then. At least we all know what we think of Wilco for permanent now!!!

If so I wonder if he’ll walk into his first training session and have an opening line of “helllo playmates”?

If so he'll certainly be a busy bee sorting this mess out.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”
