or

5-4-1

Wonder if it’ll be everyone back in the box when they get a corner or will Wilko take a chance on us making a break upfield?

Hall -Johnson looked quite sharp when he came on last home game.

We have two teams here who  are in similar positions. Cambridge went 12 without a win, not scoring goals and replaced the manager. Same situation for us. Cambridge got their caretaker off to a flying start with an away win to end their run, which was not too bad as it helped us. It's now our turn to do the same.

H-J is no centre back. Plays right back or right mid. Mills can play centre back though. Will have to wait 'til kick off and see how we line up.

Hall-Johnson didn't look brilliant in the air the other week whereas Mills is strong in this area. Hall-Johnson also quite nippy and, I believe, has played as a winger in the past so he'll definitely be the wing-back.

Happy enough with that formation myself, just as long as everyone puts in a good shift.

Presume it’s David Bryne, Tondeur says he’s been brought in as part of the staff helping out short term.

Lopsided bench, 2 left- wingers and 3 forwards? maybe give Cardwell a chance, but do we need both Hooper and Vernon as well? must be frustrating for Clifton again.

Not a team that remotely inspires me. But then, with what we currently have at our disposal, I'm not sure any manager in the world could pick and inspiring team.

Must be at a loose end since Talking Heads split 😉

Seriously though is David Byrne part of academy set up?

Not that I know of. Possibly knows PW and has come to help him out until either a manager is appointed or Wilko can appoint his own assistant (if he gets the job FT)

I'm not sure what options he had to really change it, in most of the positions apart from strikers he's playing the only fit players.

I'd have liked to see DJ in from the start, but I reckon it's wort seeing them play first. I think it will be wingbacks.

Agree not inspiring  and a bit worrying listening to the pre match interviews. Wilky saying he's talking to slade on an ongoing basis & Clark saying they've tried not to change too much in training so same old same old. Any way we will see hope I'm wrong and we can get a win. UTM

No Clifton or McAllister big issue for me as midfield is not good enough, appears to have recognised that partly by putting third player in there but why not select a genuine midfield player in that role?

Result will tell us if he is right, let’s hope so!

Completely against the run of play. Liner flagging for our free kick in their half, ref gives a goal kick and they score from it 😂 Shocking defending from Osborne.

Swindon equalise against Port Vale

We are going to rely on others to help us stay up at this rate.

If we stay up, we need to be doing whatever we can to take. Vernam permanently. He won't get in Derby's team but he's a fine player at this level. I bet we intercourse about and Scunny sign him in the summer.

Worrying times this for town , I really fear for us.

There is just nowt about us , hoof it up and hope for the best .

The manager town bring in will inherit some average  players who are limited and also some absolute waste of space.

Worried how we have no bottle or passion for anything .

I think it’s about confidence now, we have none.

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

I'm worried too, but I've seen none of what you mention in this first half. We've been comfortably the better team and they're clearly trying.
The worrying thing for me is that we can't score, Cambridge are shite and find themselves in front.

What worrying about this match is how much we are on top but haven't created any really good chances. Crambridge are just happy to soak up the "pressure" because they know we couldn't score in a brothel.

At the other end of the pitch we're too easy to beat. Another moment of individual error after a poor peice of reffing.

This goes to show how poor a squad Slade has built and how reliant we are on those below us in the league.

Why we are playing mills in central defence when we have Suliman on the bench is beyond me.

Much rather mills or hall-Johnson on the left than that waste of space!

If we lose today the only good thing that will come out of it is........ it will accelerate the appointment of a new manager from outside the club with fresh ideas.

Are the your not fit  to wear the shirt chants coming from our fans directed at someone in particular or just the squad as a whole?

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

We're going down aren't we? Bunch of heartless, useless journeymen and loanees, just like last time.

Cambridge struggle, change manager, win 2 games and score 5 goals (so far). We change manager and nothing.

We have no chance if we can't compete with Morecambe, Crewe, Cambridge etc.

Same old same old.
If the management insist on playing DIXON, BERRET and HOOPER we will never get anywhere.
If it wasn't so serious I could laugh at the team selections.
You've got the under 19 England captain sat twiddling his thumbs what a waste of a loan.

Thank you Mr Corbyn (Steptoe), you are the best thing that has happened to the Conservatives for ages.

Feckin' hell Town...score a goal for crying out loud! How hard is it? What will it take, a crowdfunder to raise a few thousand quid to give to the next player to score?

*Preferably BEFORE going 3-0 down*

You'd better have a healthy list of candidates for the job Mr Fenty, because 3-defeats-in-a-row Cambridge are STROLLING past us.

Congratulations FENTY you have given us fans the worse team in the proud history of Grimsby Town F C

RIP GTFC

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Only glimmer of hope now is a new manager pronto. Collins to come back and get  Osbourne out of the side. Rose, who has a goal in him. Get DJ one side and Wilks the other. Davies back in at left back.

Give the job to one of us, we couldn't do any fooking worse.

The ship went down.....and it looks like GTFC are heading in the same direction

When wilko said he been working on a few things in training i didn't think he meant to give away 3 points.

I can't even get mad with the players as bad as they are.
This is the culmination of the disasters dictatorship of Fenty.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

And I thought Slades post match interviews were amusing.............

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Like I posted just before kick off same old same old.
Wilkinson had the chance to change things around may be try some youth and give it a go but no he probably asked Slade what to do today, he might aswell walk now and let Dave Moore have a go.

Even the lads we had in the conference would shame this shower of shite.

Imagine Disley and Pearson going in the changing room after 90 mins with these lot.

I hardly know what to suggest any longer, I certainly wouldn't allow osbourne or dixon anywhere near the team again. Hopefully Collins and Davies will be back and available next week. Might as well try McCallister and Clifton in the middle, DJ one one wing, Dembele on the other wing and Jackson and Wilks as the front two.

So are they

You said they were worse, but the form guide says otherwise. Of course, they may not be able to bridge the gap we have on them, but i'd say right now, we are comfortably the worst side in the league.

Penno!!! We might actually get a goal

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

The worrying thing is how we throw in the towel at 1-0. Get some young legs in the side.

13 games now without a win.....

Where do we go from here?

Only one direction unless something changes but the chances are remote with the leadership we have

Just twelve games left whoever we get in needs to be a strong character but with the dregs that Slade has left behind he is going to need a shitload of luck.

This is as bad as it gets to have to feel sorry for all those fans thinking the corner may have been turned with this poor outfit we have an absolute mountain to climb.

We have got an awful squad made worse in the Jan window with no goal scorers and a timid defence we are fooked.

Cheers Fenty you left it to late your mate as fooked us up good and proper.

It only lasted for two seasons!
6 years of non league shame. We thought we could push on!
All that hope for the future in tatters now!
We are off back into the abyss probably for good this time.
Feeling extremely gutted tonight!
