GTFC XI: Killip, Mills, Osborne, Clarke (c), Dixon, Wilks, Berrett, Summerfield, Woolford, Vernam, Jackson.

Subs - Warrington, Suliman, Kelly, Hooper, Matt, Hall-Johnson, Vernon.

Think I'd have had DJ (unless he's injured) in ahead of Woolford!

Come on Town, lets end this winless run.

UTM.

In other news 3 of the teams below us have had their games postponed today due to waterlogged pitches.

PP  Morecambe v Chesterfield

PP  Newport v Forest Green

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I'm trying my best to be positive, but if you were the in-form team and looked at that group would you be worried about getting 3 more points?
That bench is so bad even Woolford gets a start!

Can only name 5 loan players in a squad, so he's the one to miss out this week along with Kean it seems.

Clee Town v top of the table Basford (Liam Hearn) just been called off, due to waterlogged pitch, if anybody was about to head to Bradley.

Can't understand why Woolford's been recalled....I know he's only on loan and we're only allowed to include 5 in the squad, but DJ must be wondering what he's got to do to play a game!

I read it at first and thought it referred to Woolford being on loan but re-read it and can see it refers to DJ being on loan, hence him not being able to be part of today's squad owing to five others already being named

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

What makes it worse is that it's just about all we have 🤣🤣

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Whatever the result, and we don't have hsitory in coming back to win games we've gone behind this season (or score for that matter) you just know Slade will be in charge next Saturday. It's not worth all the huffing and puffing, a clued up board would have replaced him long while since. Save your breath.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

We look the better team but we’ve probably copulated it now. Jackson looks head and shoulders above the rest. It’s freezing and there’s no one here.

11 successive  games with no clean sheet. 13 games since we last scored more than 1.

A 1-1 draw would be a welcome miracle right now but only IF we don't concede another. Unlikely.
And only IF we score. Itself a little unlikely.
How depressing.

Played well in patches creepy keeper pulled off a couple of good saves but Crawley had spell where it was saved or kicked of the line in a bit of a scramble, looked a penalty to me but totally accidental if you get my drift Summerfield just slipped and fell accross so their player took advantage and made sure he didnt jump over him. Killip playing well so far which is good to see.

Just 4 goals in the last 11 and a half games. Not sure it was this bad even during the Neil Woods fiasco in 2010.

Just goes to show how pathetic our substitutions are.
Crawley must be shaking in their boots with Woolford and Kelly attacking them down the wings. lol
Cambridge Manager goes after 6 games without a win. Sladey is on double that now.
The number of games left to play and our games without a win total 25. Now there's a number to remember. 2009 revisited. OMG

Thank you Mr Corbyn (Steptoe), you are the best thing that has happened to the Conservatives for ages.

Good old Clive. Used to play football with his lad adrian.

Remember once him taking us to training along with Geoff Batholomew, and his windscreen completely shattered. Had to drive the rest of the way freezing cold

When JT asked Slade a few weeks back why was Kelly nowhere near the squad, he was told he had to prove himself in training

I can only assume that he's been playing like Messi all week to get the nod not only to be in the squad but to be given 45 minutes game time

Unless he gets substituted of course

2-0 Game Over? It looks like season over TBH.
Carry on Slade you are doing a great job.

If he's not sacked immediately after this match we're getting relegated.

We're getting relegated any way at least the bald headed buffoon wouldn't be here though

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

Wish I was a gambling man,  I would definitely have put a tenner on us getting relegated. Could feel it in my bones. The transfer window just confirmed my suspicions, fears and worries.

I'd get your money on now then, if those below us win their games in hand we'll be 21st and grimly hanging on to our league status !

3-0....down

but we have been playing well apparently.......

Before you roll out the usual shite Russ about;

we deserved something
harsh
the penalty changed the game
2nd goal against the run of the play
started brightly
good possession

Ask yourself .....how many clear cut chances have we created and how many saves has their keeper made ??  Goals win games Russell...not any of your normal bullsh!tting deflection answers.

The players appear to have given up, hardly surprising considering that many of them are loanees and won’t be here next season.

It's a repeat of 2010. The board sit on their hands hoping that something will change results wise, even though there is no logical reason why they should.

For over a quarter of a season we have barely scored, let alone won a game.

Slade will take us down. He has to go, and go now if we are to give a new guy half a chance to change things.

But can anyone turn it round with this group of players?

Surely even fenty has to sack him tonight , surely .

Please please do it and let's get a clean slate and move on , forget who's right or wrong and sack him tonight John.

We are facing relegation and that's a bigger threat than who is right or wrong .

One definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Juts like keeping Woods in charge in 2010. Just like keeping Slade now.

Keep Slade in charge and we are going down.

...oversized unbalanced squad , so many loan players we cant even fit them all in the matchday squad......

board.... if as you believe RS is the right man for the job....and we are plummeting fast as a result, penalties, sending off's etc seemingly going against us regularly ....could you maybe accept that while RS maybe the right man.....but just in the wrong job ??

Why is JT saying each individual player has done ok??

In commentary we've had chances when he said "we should've done better"
Killip (who to be fair is learning his trade) was beaten from a shot "not in the corner"

Maybe you can be unlucky in one game, but not in to double figures

I've watched the penalty from the clip someone's kindly posted, and it looks like we "give the ref a decision to make" when there were covering players.  Osborne and Summerfield are clumsy at best

Any Management change HAS to be good change, Dave Moore caretaker by 10pm tonight latest

With summerfield and berrett in the midfield did anyone really expect any different ?

Bad management poor players and awful pr means this season is a disaster.

That's the point, they are ok individually. We just need someone to motivate them and give them enough confidence to keep us up.

there must be some sort of clause in slades contract or the pay out for sacking him is astronomical

And that won't come from a jaded manager who has long since lost his passion for the game.

I'm not convinced that we do have the individuals to start winning even if we get a new manager. Hope I'm wrong but this squad looks very poor

Its the same core of players that had us higher in the league.  So whats changed?

Off field discontent? Players not working hard enough?  Managers tactics? So What if slade gets sacked DM doesnt want to take over up steps NW and we end up in the bottom 3 until a new manager is appointed.

but they're not are they ?? Look at the amount of W's in my signature.....there is nothing like enough quality in this squad...end of. We have not dominated a single game all season that i can think of...the most we have managed is the odd 45 mins...here and there.

Pretty much zero pace, zero individual skill, zero power throughout.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Kelly not bad, showed a touch of skill sometimes, but not interested in getting near a tackle, strange plan having him in centre midfield leaving Dixon exposed (lead to 2nd goal) Hooper jogged around a bit. The worst part is though 2nd half we went down with hardly a whimper. Still expect Slades excuse "if they didnt get that dodgy pen andf not scored 2 more goals we would have got a valuable point. We're working hard, its a building project blah blah" bollox

Looked to be just behind the two strikers so it was a sort of 4312 formation by the end

Think it may be too late for another manager  to pick up the pieces now, but what have we got to lose. I think anything will be an improvement on the situation at the moment. Get McCall in even if he'll only do it till the season end.

Absolutely doomed now!
Our Chairman has his head stuck up his own bottom!
Our Manager has dismantled a poor team and turned it into a dreadful team.
Our players are a confused mess.
I have resigned myself to the sad fact that our whole future as a football club has finished.
Our local derbies soon to be North Ferriby or York instead of Scunthorpe Lincoln or Doncaster.
Well done John Fenty with your “let’s kick on” comments.
That really worked well didn’t it!
When you do finally pull your head out of your anus you will see that it is way too late!
So fantastic! Congratulations!

JT just asked him if he would walk away, he said no as he wasn't a quiter   getting very irate with JTs constant questioning about poor form and relegation.

Programming error, quite common in the SladeBot Mk II. Prone to memory errors and fatal loops when attempting logic.

Someone sneak up and locate this on the back of his head..

Quoted from jaygy
We’re slowly getting dragged into a relegation battle and teams below are racking up some games in hand

SLOWLY ???

What you on about we have not won a game since December  THAT'S TWELVE GAMES We are positively sprinting towards relegation.

Slade needs to be kicked out now.

Cambridge manager got sacked for far less.

WTF you waiting for Fenty? Slades about as popular as the dogshitt down Harrington St stop playing hopscotch John, even Slade must think he deserves sacking.

We all know we can't afford to sack him' His contract is so good [£138K for 4 years + whatever Wilko's on] that if we paid

him off to his full contract it would be the demise of GTFC. But if he stays the end result is the same. So what do we do.

You might have thought you were doing a good thing by getting him last season J.S.F. but it appears that he took you for

a mug and stitched you up,so it is up to you to come up with a solution to get yourself and US out of this mess. You

must have realised the man is clueless-get him to do the decent thing  OR ELSE THE OUTCOME IS INEVITABLE.
