It's not uncommon these days to have a gagging order built into a severance package.

Just to put a few things straight about akwasi. He only trained with the 1st team squad once. He suprised management how fit and good he was. He was then told to train with the youth. This was not about akwasi ability, he was a Bignot player on relative high wages together with the othet 3 that have gone. All four had to go. No attempt made to stop them including osborne. Regards Solihull. When akwasi went there it was to get match fitness. He was still recovering from a bruised bone on his right foot.look it up it can take time to heel but he was prepared to have steroid injections to get through pain. Richard money loaned him and paid all of his wages. Akwasi was getting fitter until money walked out and Mark Yates took over. Similar scenario to grimsby. Akwasi was on loan at a team that the new manager wanted his own players. Akwasi tried to cancel the loan but grimsby was not allowing it they were saving money. He stayed till the end which was a waste of time. My believe was that they thought solihull was going to keep him. Akwasi pushed for the loan to solihull because of the physio facilities were far better. His intention was to come back to grimsby and fight for a place. That was never going to happen. His time at grimsby he looks upon as a positive experience. He had 6 months left of a contract which meant he could have sat in the stands and collect his wages. That's not for akwasi. He has agreed a severance and has signed for a club in the Midlands who came in for him last week. They have matched his financial package but more importantly he will be given the chance to play. He still has ambitions.. Regarding the rumours about him not pulling his weight in training just a smoke screen. Anyway all has been sorted. There could have been a lot more to say but have agreed to keep shim. All the best for the future you fans deserve it.

you have always championed his cause.....as i said earlier JF's choice of words caught on tape referred to him needing to get his boots on and that he was a fking @rsehole.....i genuinely dont think those words would have been used if all was as you describe above. Only 2 or 3 people know the actual truth....the rest of us will be left in the dark just as we normally are and will have to decide for ourselves. Having seen him against us when we played Solihull in the cup a couple of seasons ago he looked a right handful and equally if not more impressive than Bogle...never saw him produce that in a Town shirt though. One that got away ? His time to prove it now.

Are you able to comment on why JF might have called him what he did? Seems very much an extreme response to me.....

IMO if it was down to budget and choosing who to keep..
J Osborne + Asante + Jones + Clements > Hooper + Kelly + Berrett + Vernon + Cardwell + Woolford + McAllister
A real shame..

The comment from JF you take interpret that it meant he needs to get his boots on for training, not the other interpretation that he needs to get his boots on and go. Don't forget he needed to get him off the wage bill. What I am saying you can interpret what JF said another way. What gets me ranting and defending akwasi is the blatant lies that comes out of Grimsby fc aimed at the lad, some we ignore. He is as fit as he has ever been in his career. The sad fact is Grimsby have no money to invest. Can you sustain being a 2nd div team next year. It is going to be hard. I am close to akwasi I have knowledge of what goes on at clubs. What has happened with akwasi is nothing different that happens at other clubs. You put it down to experience and move on, but learn from your experiences. The other Bignot players went through similar experiences but that is for them to tell you. I have given an honest insight into some of akwasi experiences. We now move on and wish you all the best.

Don't know the ins and outs but he was scoring regularly in the league below ours when we signed him, for a non too glamorous team. That was a year ago. How many of our current strikers have scored goals as regularly as him at a decent standard in the recent past? Can't think of one.
Hooper got 10 in 50 games for Port Vale, and 0 in 10 on loan to Northampton, but he can't get near our squad. I bet there isn't another striker in our squad who has scored more than a handful in the last 2 or 3 seasons. It's obvious where our problems lie and maybe Asante could have helped in that regard. I expect he will go somewhere else and start banging goals in.
