My brother got crushed against a wall at that QPR cup game, by a copper on a hoss. He then grabbed him by his hair and pulled him along for about ten yards. The treatment of footy fans is scandalous, and remains so.

I remember there was a massive fight outside with horses charging down the town fans.

Aye, my brother got mixed up in it. Wrong place, wrong time, as he's not a hooligan. Quite the opposite.

Re 3G, every lower league club should be striving to do this, would surely save them all money in the long term and decrease the number of games abandoned and postponed. Most teams can train on a 3G pitch somewhere before a game in the same way a team that already has a 3G pitch can train on grass leading up to an away game so its horses for courses.

Well if them's the rules , them's the rules. Sutton installed the pitch knowing that you couldn't get into the League with one so that's their gamble. Its unfortunate that Non League do seem to be much harder on implementing rules on such things when you consider the all seater ruling in the EFL.
Scunny for instance can  still get away with having standing  despite us having to go all seater in the 80's/90's !! They have been playing Leagues above us for a number of years now but still havnt had to install seating.

IIRC, grounds have to be made all seater for the 4th season at Championship level or above (we did it in 1995). Scunny have played 3 seasons at that level since the rule was brought in in 1992, so if they go up this season they would have to do it. Something like that anyway.

Not for me. Football should be played on grass.
