Before i get absolutely slated (probably for several reasons) here's the background My dad was from Grimsby, I was born in Doncaster My grandma was one of the one's responsible for getting Tony Ford through the turnstiles and at the age of 8 my Dad said son,I cannot afford to take you to both Grimsby and Doncaster games, you have to pick a team..... Doncaster were 3rd in league 2 Grimsby were about 19th....So i picked Grimsby as the chips were better and there were loads of arcades (including a Dalek) on the trip to the ground...
I dont know whats going on politically but here's my view:-
I support the club, I hate the type of football we are playing at the minute and i put that fairly at the foot of the manager, I believe he has no idea with regards to players, how to play, his signings have been awful and we have gone backwards massively under his leadership.
As for Mr Fenty, It was his decision to employ him so with him lays the blame, on the pr side, On a good forsaken night in Carlisle (i think they were a league lower than us) in some awful trophy game it was cold, wet and i think there was about 30 of us their and we had a useless goalie, he came and stood with me and bought me a coffee, he actually thanked me for turning up.
Anyway what i am trying to say is if i won the lottery and bought the club i would probably have made wrong decisions, hired the wrong person and would probably be disliked by alot of the Grimsby faithful.. All i want is winning entertaining football.and here ends my rant / first post.

Nothing controversial there Bedders. No red crosses (I hope).
Love your reasons for supporting Town!
|
| Through the door there came familiar laughter, I saw your face and heard you call my name. Oh my friend we're older but no wiser, For in our hearts the dreams are still the same. |

Forgot to add that it was good post. The bit about the chips made me chuckle. Got to get your priorities right.

at the age of 8 my Dad said son,I cannot afford to take you to both Grimsby and Doncaster games, you have to pick a team..... Doncaster were 3rd in league 2 Grimsby were about 19th....So i picked Grimsby as the chips were better and there were loads of arcades (including a Dalek) on the trip to the ground...
I think this is my favourite thing I've ever read on here.

No apology needed PP. I pointed out the same, but then it just dawned on me what he may have meant. It was nice to read an opening post that had a bit of humour to it for a change. Too much doom and gloom around.
