Isn’t that included in the ‘what three things do you think the Trust should be doing’?

When I wrote the questions that’s where I intended that to go.

Ultimately unless someone comes forward there’s no question to be asked on ownership. You can’t have fan ownership if there’s no fans coming forward to take ownership!

Even if those in within the Trust membership are in favour of it as a long term aim? there has been lots of talk about it lately.

I find it hard to believe that Grimsby Town fans wouldn't come forward to facilitate fan ownership if that was an option. I can't see how our fans would be different to Exeter, Wycombe and Newport, other than that we are a bigger club.

But there’s a difference from saying ‘we want fan ownership ‘ to having someone stand up and say ‘we want fan ownership and lead on it’

There are lots of the former but none of the latter.

At the minute it's not even being discussed and you as the chairman of the trust are suggesting it couldn't happen.

Do you think if it was an aim that the fans were behind people would come forward?

I am not having a go and I am not sure what the majority of people think. It's just an idea that seems to have been written off before it has even been discussed.

You’re putting words in my mouth 😂

I’m not saying it can’t or won’t happen. But I’m saying as of now there is no one stepping forward to lead on it. And if it is to ever happen it needs willing bodies.

To be clear I am not that person. If the will of the Members is to go down that route I would resign as Chair because I don’t have the time or desire to run a fan owned club. Hence the need for people to step forward if that’s what they want.

Agree totally with this and I'll be interested in the survey's views.

For my pennyworth I've used one of my three suggestions that the Trust researches into the possibilities of Trust/fan ownership and publishes a report. It's obviously up to the Trust's committee how it goes about this and what bodies/individuals in and outside the club it engages/consults.
But it's a massive undertaking and it needs careful consideration, rather than easy talk.
Perhaps it could lead to a more sedate approach with just a longer-term strategy to take gradual control over many years?

But at the minute it just seems a bit of a Sisyphean task.

Done.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

I do not think the Trust running the club will happen while Fenty holds all the cards.

I do think the trust should insist that all board members put £30,000 each year or none of them do,

The trust will give the club money anyway but they should not be treated any differently  to other board members.

I think the Trust should be commended for this survey. It gives the opportunity to get everything you want to say .  Well done.

Completed and well done the trust for this survey, if the trust has to put £30k in a year this should be in the format of shares and all shares to protected with a hands off caveat.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.
