The other way of thinking about it, is that it is a lot of hassle to raise issues of racial abuse and people are often stigmatised for it. Often when things like this are reported they are not taken seriously and we get into victim blaming. Like in this case were people are saying he's played the 'race card'.
He's done as much as reporting it to his manager and maybe felt that was enough.
I was there that day and he was totally incensed, I saw his reaction straight away. It is clear something was said to him when he was about 6 feet from the Town fans. Like you say, you know what a minority are like and it only takes one person to say something ridiculous.
That’s the point HM. It’s a very tricky subject. If indeed it was the club that decided not to take it further then that is disgusting and no wonder he couldn’t wait to leave. My whole point is that just because my personal opinion is that it didn’t happen it doesn’t mean it didn’t. The subject was done to death at the time and shouldn’t be hijacking threads. If getting grief for reporting racism, still exists to point of dissuading someone from doing so, we are in a sorry sorry state. But just because it’s an emotive issue doesn’t mean someone is guilty until proven innocent. (Ska face take note). |

Anyone see shrews v Bradford a few weeks back ? Toto had to be dragged away from the yorkie fans by his teammates at full time . Obviously got a bit of a temper . Henderson was bouncing around waving his arms windmill stylee which was a bit embarrassing too .

Retarded is a word to describe someone who is mentally slow. This is a medical word that spread to slang, and is today considered very insulting.
I used the word 'retards' to describe people who are capable of being racially abusive, so much so that they would even racially abuse our own players (not worse than racially abusing anyone by the way). If you are upset by me insulting such people they I suggest you are the one with a problem. There is NEVER an excuse for racism and if I insult somebody because they are then so be it. You are of course entitled to your own opinions, but thankfully most of us have moved on from the 60's
And at what point did I say that racists shouldn’t be insulted? Use a another word instead of ‘ imbecile’ - it’s offensive and degrading, similar to the word ‘ divvy’ (still visible on the other forum btw). |

Why should I use another word. In this particular context I believe it is appropriate. Surely these people have under developed brains. Otherwise they would understand that the colour of a persons skin is totally irrelevant as to the kind of person they are. I can assure you I have never used the word divvy on this or any other forum. So I don’t know where you got that cr@p from. |

Most players will look on the fishy.
It may be unpleasant viewing at times when the going gets tough but a lot of the fans are a reasonable lot. Appreciate a trier and that should be comfort to most players.

People see inadequacies or weakness in someone and there likely to have a go.Eg knocking others about their physical appearance eg calling them ugly is just as bad and hurtful as racism. Unfortunately we live in a society thats profit driven and morality sadly sometimes goes out of the window in pursuit of greed |

I don't think profit drives that sort of behaviour. If anything capitalism sponsors diversity because it sees it as being more profitable to employ a more diverse workforce. That's not to say unfettered capitalism doesn't drive other harmful behaviours. |
