Has He Gone Yet?

Just wondering if Slade has used the last iota of pride and resigned this morning.

He won't resign...  if he's sacked he probably gets a big pay off.... i reckon he wants out but won't go quietly...   sad....

Seriously if Town announced what it would cost to pay him off I reckon a crowd funder could be set up and he would be gone by 1pm such is the feeling.GET RID

Let's face it, he'll not be going for at least the next two games and we'll sack him just after the window slams shut. It will be the absolutely worst timing possible but then that's what happens when you've got a board full of clowns.

if there is a sacking, it should be paid for by the board and not in the form of loans.

How can any one work where they know they are not wanted ?

He's used to it. I think his skin is nearly as thick as his football managerial skills

Absolutely not.

It is Fenty who chose to hire him and it should be Fenty and not the club that has to pay him off when the inevitable happens.

In these times he could probably claim constructive dismissal if he doesnt get any previously agreed conditions of contract/employment and sue us !!

I was merely saying US the fans would have a whip round in record time to pay him if we never had to see another minute of his crap football.

I reckon we've chucked one hell of a lot of money at him. Not only that, we've given him funds to buy new players, funds for a S&C coach...

Just guessing again but I reckon Slade's on more per week than anything Paul Hurst asked for.

That's a better use of that money. Any player Slade brings in is unlikely to make a huge impact in terms of points given the amount of dross he's brought in. Whereas the right manager could at least get us enough points to survive with this squad.

I'd be highly surprised, even if the results continue to be poor, if they release Slade this season. I genuinely think the club see him as an experienced, safe pair of hands and even if the results are terrible over the next 5-6 games, I think Fenty et al will see him as the best option to eventually returning us to winning ways.

Personally I think Slade will be our manager for the forseeable future - barring any complete disasters (like a home 7-0 humping or similar).

Not saying this is what I want to see, but just what I can see happening, based on how the club has reacted to things so far.

Also I thought the radio interview from Saturday's defeat where he simply can't apologise to the fans and instead trots out some balderdash about "remaining professional" shows he is anything but. I'd have thought an experienced football manager like him would be able to take a bit of criticism from the fans and rise above it, but it looks as though it's clearly already getting to him.

I can remember Town knocking in 7 goals against Luton 22 years ago - so it is probably their turn  

Just wondering if there's a clause in the contract that allows us to get rid if he doesn't give us the much talked about top 7 finish, and until we mathematically cannot finish above 8th it's prudent to keep him? Just musing but seems only realistic reason I can see he's still got his job.

I fear he will stay with us, lose the next 2 games , get the sack , after which any new incumbent won't  have time to get any new players in... so it's gonna be a long , hard,  nerve wracking season and I just hope we avoid the drop....

But just imagine,  as I'm sure 1 person is , top six place every season,  4,500 to 5,000 gates... trips to Wembley every other year... what a great life it was....  oh for those heady days of non-league...

He won't be sacked unless we're in genuine trouble.  JF has banked quite a lot on Slade coming in and making us a stable League 2 side until something happens with the stadium, at a guess.  They're obviously quite friendly with each other and I think JF still believes he is the right man for the job.  

According to what Burnsy and Lowther said on Sportstalk a week ago, he is on a 12-month rolling contract, so it wouldn't be the biggest financial disaster in the world to sack him.  I know some have suggested that a certain shareholder should pay him off out of his own pocket, but I'm not sure if that's even possible unless he was to loan us more money?

Anyway, I wouldn't get your hopes for any news today, or even in the near future.

Apologies if my reply seemed a touch crass. It wasn't aimed at you personally, more that the only person that should have to fork out for this utter farce is the buffoon that brought it to us in the first place.

Mr Fenty will not be bullied into sacking his mate,  

Slade will do what he has done at nearly all his old clubs,

He will get his sales patter working on the board then agree to leave by mutual consent,

Then walk away with his pride in tact and a big cheque in his pocket.

BUT

It will not be for a few weeks yet  sorry.

Reading the stuff on AA thread has just redoubled my thoughts that our slug of a manager needs to intercourse off out of our club. He’s just poisonous.

Talk of change/adapting the way we play.Sounds encouraging but just wait and see the same team and substitutions we have seen before. I don't think we will see anything very different to what we have seen in the last few weeks. We will not see Asante, Clements, McAllister or Clifton while RS is still here. Hall- Johnson and Wright will not return and be given a chance. Looks like we will not be signing anyone else until the summer.

Although I do not think we will be relegated I do think it will be a close thing.

Hall Johnson deal is the weirdest thing in an increasingly weird set of signings/decisions. Can anyone explain what was the point of that deal and why we got rid after two days or whatever? It's so obvious he will never play here, so what on earth was the point?

So no wins in 8and Luton up next, yikes!

I wonder if a failure to win either of the next two (Luton and Yeovil) will be enough to get Sladehead gone for goods? Or do we think we will continue to limp on a while longer yet.

Steve Claridge is doing a good job for Salisbury, he would be a good appointment but is very unlikely to move up north.
