Fair enough dicko, i personally don't think an ex player who has been out of the game for years is what we need right now, but we definitely need something, that's for sure.

We definitely need someone who eats and sleeps GTFC Ginny, maybe not Cockers, but someone  who will breathe life into the lads. I wish Laurie Mac was around,hes the type we need right now, he cared for the Town, brought the players to us at work etc,gave the area a real buzz,they broke the mould when he left, that's the kind of guy we need right now.

I spoke with Ron Cockerill down the ave, one day.
Superb man, always had time to speak with Town fans, and what a great player he was, nicknamed Cannonball Cockerill. Crossbars at BP had testament to that.
He confirmed that John had turned down the manager's job, because of lack of money, but the amount wasn't £1 million pounds, it was £250,000.

Yes but unlike an agent or recruiter he would do it without prejudice as his motivations would not be money based.

Why?
What's wrong with sourcing a manager from outside the club?
As previously posted earlier,follow a sensible recruitment plan.
By all means use ex players/mangers as advisors but get away from the idea of employing an ex player who "gets" GTFC.
It's laughable people suggesting AB and the like.

So people would want a up coming manager/managers why not go for Salford pair then ?
