Ooh a Red Cross, thank you whoever you are.  However, much though I admire your generosity, it would probably be better if you kept it and stuck it over your bottom.  Your boyfriend will appreciate a clearly defined target.

So we won't be seeing you with a rainbow painted on your face at Pride?

I'm sorry, and I know that I will get a lot of red x's for this, but sometimes I wonder about a minority of town fans. It's very difficult for me to comprehend how so many people are unable to see an alternative point of view, or to have the simple human sense of empathy.
Osborn moved out of his geographical and footballing comfort zone, because he had a chance of a pro career given to him by his trusted manager Bignot.  No sooner than he's got here then his mentor is sacked and slade comes in, a grizzled old pro, with his very different ideas. Osborne is injured, far away from his family and not really wanted. Would you really, honestly and truly want to be living in a cledthorpes bedsit, 100 miles from your family with your Youngn desperately ill, earning a few hundred a week and faced with a boss who doesn't ' fancy" you? Just think how hat must feel on a miserable Wednesday night in cledthorpes. Fair play to jamie, if your family comes first n foremost the he's probably made the right decision. Football is not the be all and end all. Family is.

You make some fair points, but a change in manager is part and parcel of professional football. He should never have been signed if he wasn't prepared to move. It shows little commitment to a long contract.

He only played a dozen games for Bignot at Solihull so I'm not sure about the 'trusted' manager bit. Of course family comes first, but a 30 month contract should come with commitment from both sides and the reality that, if you sign a contract of that duration, the manager is likely to change before you get to the end of it.

The bottom line of all of this is that we didn't get to see if he could fulfil his promise due to a set of circumstances that could hardly have been predicted.

Sooo....i believe the Winter Gardens closed in 2007.......which saw the end of "The Bags" .... now we all know that players of great standing locally used to frequent "The Bags" on a Wednesday night hoping for some midweek cardio work and groin stretching and to take on liquids which are essential for any athlete.

Would we say that GTFC has seen more good times or more bad times since 2007 ?  Coincidence ??

The most iconic "couldnt settle" player in modern memory...Martin Butler ..came to us in ..yes...2007 !!  Coincidence ??

Players unhappy with the area ever since seems to be on the increase too.......cant recall remember the Lever's, Gilberts, Childs, Handyside, Macca, Pouton, Reddy, leaving because they couldnt settle...... Coincidence ??

JF .....scrap plans for a new stadium and rebuild The Winter Gardens instead !!!

By Jove Holmes, I think you’ve cracked it !

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Quoted from Pontooner
It's a good job John McDermott and John Cockerill didn't take the Jamie Osbourne attitude when they were converted from right wing to right back and CH to CM by Alan Buckley.

But perhaps they felt comfortable in their new roles whereas Jamie might not have done.
The first time I ever saw Nathan Pond was when Fleetwood came to BP and he was in mid-field. He ran the show and scored I do believe. But he hated that position and even went out on loan to a lower level club so he could play centre-back. He was centre-back for us and was a real talent. It does help a players mindset if he can play in his preferred position - some take to change and others don't, just like most humans.
