Left because slade wanted to play him out of position...

Says he still wants to play in the football league.

News for you Jamey, don't spit your dummy out because you don't get what you want, otherwise you won't make it as a professional footballer.

So whilst everyone is slating slade on this one, I'm with him.

Don’t blame him at all for wanting to play football rather than kick his heels while Slade picks the same matchday squad every week.

He’s a cracking player but doesn’t fit with Slade’s tactics so why waste his time? If he thinks that dropping down a division and playing regularly in his favoured position is the way forward for him then good for him - it takes guts to admit its not going work and take positive steps to progress. Better than just collecting a wage and not being able to get near the first team because of lack of game time.

If you're not getting picked in your preferred position, work harder and play as well as you can wherever you are put in the team.

Can you imagine Kevin Jobling telling Buckley he was off unless he was played in central midfield?

If true, this is an example why he's in his mid-20s and back in non-league, regardless of his footballing ability.

Isn't part of being a professional footballer to earn the right to play in your preferred position? He had the thick end of four months out, found out that he might have to work to win his shirt and then decided he didn't fancy it. Obviously I've got loads of sympathy that his daughter was poorly but there's a serious case of the tail wagging the dog - he should have approached like Jamille Matt did after his daughter had been hurt - fight for the shirt!

I just thought it was a bizarre interview - no one comes out well. To me, and as friskney'll tell you, I m not the brightest- but he does seem to be saying that he wasn't really prepared to fight for his position. I figure if I want to play centre mid I ll just work my balls off til i get that- not go back to where it's comfortable, but I do appreciate that there were personal reasons too. For what it's worth I also think there's a touch of "cashing in" on the anti slade feelings by sort of but not quite blaming him , which I think is a little cynical.

Typical pro........ did the bleeding hearts thing to get what he wants and then makes out none of the reason for moving is his fault.

Basically: I don’t want to fight for a place, and I want the team to be shaped around me.

Oh the irony ! Bignot was slated for playing players out of position.
