My dad is 85, he has supported town since he was10. We have been season ticket holders for as long as we can both remember. The number of home games he has missed in that 75 years is less than 10. These have been due to work commitments or illness.
We even go to the the controversial cup games against the under 23 teams!
Last weeks game was the first game he has missed through choice in all that time. He told me today that he will not be going again on Saturday.
He says he's sick of the bullshit that follows every performance from Slade and Wilkinson.
The boards seal of approval for Slade and his cronies could be the last straw.
I'm really concerned that all the negativity through the week capped by garbage at the weekends will end my dads lifetime love affair with the mighty ones.
I am gutted, not too far to say, heartbroken.

Gutted for your dad, some years of loyalty that. But maybe just maybe this is a wake up call for the club that even the lifelong town fans have turned there backs on the club.

If he has sat through Lyons, Roberts, Law, Rodger,  Newell , Woods, Bignot and all, then this should be a walk in the park for him in reality. Not great at the moment but i have definately seen worse and given your dad has 30 odd years more viewing than i have then i am sure he has too.

Maybe life perspective changes all our tolerance levels as we get older ....and no doubt wiser !!

The absolute surrender dropping into non league and warning seasons prior to the drop into the abyss has been the break point for a lot of Town fans. This may not compare to Lyons, Nicky Law, Neweel but it feels more of the same that saw us drop into non league and for some it is too much.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.
