Is my memory playing tricks but didn't Marshall start in the second leg at Braintree.

No the side was

McKeown, Tait, Toto, Gowling, Robertson, Clay, Nolan, Dis, Pittman, Omar, Podge

Subs were Arnold and Marshall who came on around 65-70 minutes. Marahall won the corner from which we won the penalty after the best piece of refereeing I’ve seen in the Conference. Podge miscued his pen and it sort od dribbled in. Then Marshall won the ball back and was fouled for the free kick from which Omar scored the winner.

Monkhouse not starting at all made the difference

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

You mean if it was not for Monkhouse being injured forcing Hurst to play Marshall you mean

I meant the penno. Podge saw them (the Cowleys) tell the goalkeeper which way to dive and so hit it straight down the middle.

Hope he gets a good reception on Saturday.

Marshall's importance in winning that leg was absolutely pivotal, but it did not win him any sort of role in the Wembley victory on the back of it. I remember being struck by that and just how well he did at Braintree.

Arguably the most important individual performance in Town history. He earned that entire season’s wage in that single hour which is good cause he didn’t do a lot else!

He will get a very good reception from me, even if he scores, I just hope some clowns don't boo him.

Slade said he wasn’t the type of player he was looking for (or words to that effect).
