Will we see an influx of talent there this window? They have a new ground and need to act sharpish if they don't want to end up in non league. I think they will have a new manager and players before Jan is out.

It's a worry this, With FGR splashing the cash this may open up another space to drop through the trapdoor. We need to get to 50 points ASAP.

Was thinking the same. Few weeks ago we were looking up the table....

Didn't they receive a big sell on fee when Sam Clucas went from Hull to Swansea for £15m?

would you really want to be bought by Chinese investors? I don't think I would and it's a perilous position to be in. I imagine they'll have a couple of good years and the plug will be pulled and they'll end up in non-league.

Absolutely. As effectively a suburb of Sheffield and also Derby & Nottingham on the doorstep i cant imagine there is a huge potential Chesterfield fanbase waiting for them to hit the big time. Having a visible local man may have its drawbacks but i would take that over a relatively invisible investment from oversees.

As an investor, would you rather a new build or something 'in need of modernisation!'
At the moment we seen to be in a perilous position. We have a 'majority share holder' that the majority want out, but what if the only buyers were from the likes of China, America, Russia or Dubai?
At what point does a sale become acceptable? Not wanting to play devils advocate, but they may realistically be the only ones that are interested

That's a massive parochial assumption to make isn't it? Inside NE Lincs good, outside NE Lincs bad.. There's dozens of clubs all benefitting from outside investment and have a stature beyond recognition from 20 years ago. Aren't we about at that point where we haven't got too much to lose and everything to gain? Bet those Man City fans are all up in arms about foreign investment or the Bournemouth fans are bemoaning their position in the Premier League.. For every club where foreign investment hasn't worked, there's plenty where it has on every scale.. Surely it's down to the calibre of the investor not their geography.. Everyone on here is praising up Shrewsbury, but their CEO is Scottish.. Haven't we learnt anything from the past couple of decades?

I'm no anti-internationalist, but I can't imagine foreign investors would be in it for the love of the game. Once they realise they're not going to achieve premier league status/make millions from the club it'll be ditched and left with massive debts. It's happened too many times to be ignored as a real possibility. That's before we get on to the higher chance that 'investors' from countries like China, Russia, the US and Dubai are more likely to be dodgy.

Not before the club is mortgaged off with the ground and other physical assets used as security.
