Think you should be asking what this "ITK Yorkie" account is like first. Not exactly a real source.

Anyhow, Clements is a player well and truly out of favour so will probably leave us this month. Played the 2nd half of last season for us and was a tidy enough footballer, popped up with a few goals. Had a personal issue in the summer, returned unfit, went out on loan, wasn't even getting in Barrow's team in the conference and questions still remain over his physical condition.

Depends which one turns up? You could have a goal scoring midfielder with some spark and flair or the invisible man.My advice give him the ball and tell him not to worry about tracking back get others in to do his running and you will see the best of him.

Was good for us last season. But doesn't fit into our manager's ethos (was signed by our previous manager) If handled well he will absolutely obliterate your level, but the if handled well is important

I thought he was one of our best midfielders last year. Lot of skill and chips in with a few goals too. Needs someone around him to do the donkey work

I thought he actually did pretty well with the grunt work as well.

When the whole midfield went AWOL, as they tended to in some games, he disappeared along with the rest, but otherwise got stuck in and challenged well in the air especially.

I was very disappointed that he didn't start the season for us because I think having him involved might have helped it work.

Oh well, I don't imagine we'll see him in a GTFC shirt again. Another fee wasted...

The fee is not important, it's the wages that cost us.

We do owe Kiddy for taking Gowling from them, so if Clements is going there best of luck to both him and them. Let's hope he helps them get out of the Conference North

Kiddie will be nowhere near promotion this season unfortunately; very poor from the game I seen them against us in November.

Can see them going PT next season again if they don’t pip Salford/Harrogate to promotion.

Played well for the reserves today apparently, and scored.

Has said on Twitter that he’s staying and fighting for his place. Fair play and good luck to him if that is the case.

He's probably on a good wedge here so why should he leave?

Hmmm. If he's fit and able, perhaps worth trying to play with a couple of defensive midfielders again - Clements and Summerfield might be able to play as that partnership? 4-2-3-1.

One thing is for sure, 4-4-2 certainly isn't working at present.

The little I saw of him (or anyone for that matter) he seemed a decent League 2 player. Chipped in with a couple of goals. Showed a bit of skill and a lot of effort.

We've been playing 4231 though? Jones has been behind Matt for the last 2 months

Nah - it has definitely been pretty much a 4-4-2 with a very flat (too flat, in fact) midfield four. It's one of the reasons why we don't get enough men in support of the strikers.

I suppose you could say it was a 4-4-1-1 at a push, but that would be generous as Matt and Jones have been playing very much as a front two.

When I say a potential 4-2-3-1, I'm talking very much about having three players in front of the defensive midfield two and a lone striker up top.

I suppose the obvious three would be Jiayesimi, Jones and Dembele but they would have to play in a 3 as opposed to dropping off.

For that matter, how about Summerfield, Rose and Clements in a midfield three? Would mean sacrificing an attacker, I suppose, but both Rose and Clements have shown they have goals in them.

Chris Clements? That name rings a bell 😗

Think he might have played for the Mariners once upon a time?

I’m getting on a bit nowadays though and my memory’s not what it once was 😉

I like that as an idea.

As Rose and Summerfield are both grafters it would allow Clements a little more freedom to get forward and play proper football. The only condition would be this. Clements and Rose have to get beyond the striker (probably Matt) and when our wingers are beating men and putting in a cross (Dembele and DJ) the other one needs to be on the back post, ready to snaffle any opportunity.

Let's face it, regardless of what we think, it's unlikely that Clements will play too often or even at all!

On the contrary, he may be imagining the Blundell Park revolving door spinning off its hinges in the next week or two and thinking there may be only 11 left by Feb so he's guaranteed a game.

We started this season playing 4-2-3-1 and there was uproar on here that we weren't playing 4-4-2

Yes but it was really 4-5-1 when we had possesion and out of possession it was more 7-3-0
