Max Wright is playing for Scarborough in the Evo Stick North. Do you really think he is ready to cut it in League 2? Tombola hasn't impressed three different managers, including the one that signed him. They can't all be wrong

I hear all the time that we should give local lads a chance but if they were good enough, we would be. Why would we bother to sign players if the home grown ones were of the required standard? As much as everyone has a downer on Slade and Wilko, i think they are in a much better position to judge than we are. I'm sure they would love to play locally produced players.

How do we no he Max isn't? Scarborough are doing well are they not? And as for Bolly I think he's be given a bum deal with town, he has always looked a threat going forward, more of a threat than any of our front men of present so why not try him up front. Remember when we had livo at centre back, he did alright didn't he, unless you try you'll never no.

Hurst signed Bolarinwa with a view to developing him.  He was gone 3 months into the season so didn't really get time to do so. The seal of approval from Bignot isn't really one that carries much credit and to be fair neither is one from Slade at the minute.

I don't think anyone is claiming Bolarinwa is a world beater but I can't believe he isn't better than Vernon or Hooper coming off the bench. He's playing well in a side riding high in the league below us. I dare say if we played Sutton tomorrow they would beat us.

The point is that we've players out on loan/sat in the stands who are better than players we've got in the match day squad. That's a major reason why we're crap this season. I doubt any team at this level could do that and not suffer.

It's a big jump from Evo Stick North to League 2. As for Bolly, i never personally felt he was good enough, so his departure is no shock to me. Others may disagree.

Besides, neither of those two are strikers anyway. If the new lad turns out to be no better than what we have, then fair enough, but i think we ought to check him out first.

One of the downsides to our time in non-league (yeah I know there were many) was that we surrendered our local patch of "home grown" to clubs who were established League clubs and it is going to take some time to build that back up. I heard on Saturday that Galli's lad looks very promising but he's been snapped up by Scunthorpe. Hull also get some decent youngsters from this side of the water.

Aye, my nephew's lad went to Scunny and you can see BP from his house.

My point is why not take a gamble on using what we had out there instead, max wright, try bolly upfront, delve into the youth squad and give some young home grown lads a chance. Without trial and error sticking them in is the only way we will find out.

Now is not the time to be plucking 17 year old YT's from the Youth Team and exposing them to the atmosphere on a Saturday where they're likely to get booed off. Could seriously set someone of that age back.

I saw Tombola play in the Isthmian League North for Cray Wanderers the  season before he signed for us and at that level he was very impressive.

But he wasn't ready to step up to League 2.

Well their judgement on players brought Dixon, Woolford, Kelly and JJ to the club, so on that basis I think their " judgement " is flawed.
