Long time reader my first post and I don't see a subject that is more relevant than this.

Having seen all the post over the last month regarding slade out there hasn't been any suggestion from anyone over who people want to replace him. Although I do agree that slade needs to walk I'm struggling to think of someone who can come in and improve our fortunes.

Seen posts of Disley and Buckley which are absurd.  If we are to replace slade we need someone who can come in and work with what's here for the final 4 and half months of the season and most importantly get the players and the fans back engaged in the club.

So if you were in charge who would you appoint?

We've hopefully learned our lesson when it comes to journeymen. Someone from the conference whose career is in an upward trajectory
Edit: Ebbsfleet's McMahon?

I would try and grab David Challinor at AFC Fylde, done really well in the non-leagues. Also won various awards including good team discipline with least yellow cards/red cards.

How welcome would he be at BP? Those with good memories would remember the Martin Pringle incident.

I certainly remember it... shocking tackle that ultimately ended Pringle’s career.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

I remember it well. It was raining heavily and I was sat in the Pontoon's temporary open corner then the stewards moved us to the Osmond. I think Challinor only got a yellow for his shocking two footed challenge that broke Pringle's leg and Carlton Palmer got a red for clapping his hands at the ref's terrible decision making.
