If you’ve got a GCSE in French does that mean you can speak French fluently?

I've got a GCE--A level in Bull Shite but it doesn't make me a farmer. [maybe a football manager]

Qualifications or experience, I'm working with people who have neither in my industry that make decisions and lead teams, all poor in their roles and unremovable unless it's promotion. There is however one manager who worked on the tools, made technical specialist, then team leader and next year becomes Field Manager, he is very good at his job, and understands issues when they are explained to him, the others wing it. I guess what I am saying is that Sladeball is winging it, his type of game needs strong and fast players who has he brought in that fits that picture. Ultimately Sladeball will have us mid table bang average and Fenty won't mind until we are a new stadium.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Bang on Marinerz93 percentages/text book approach will get you so far but he's obviously lacking that key ingredient.

The table as with careers don't always tell the whole story early on ,  but as our season unfolds, just as Slade career has over 20 years it's clear that both are a story of just making up the numbers and achieving absolutely nothing.

I would imagine there are far more managers who have never won anything than have. Pointless subject

He is being led by a boardroom that has achieved absolutely nothing but abject failure. Where is the inspiration, drive and determination?

True honours don't always tell the whole story Newell got two clubs promoted and Nicky Law has done it at three clubs, does that make Slades career look better or worse in perspective.

I would hope so too, having gone on to manage in the Championship. The man can only operate within budget, and It's fair to say some players haven't been up to it... We have a massive squad... Lets hope we can offload deadwood before bringing in some better players.

Problem is some of that deadwood are on two year contracts, you only have to look at what a complete waste of a wage McAllister has been and he is still here.

Just to even this out, the Cowley's were PE Teachers so I'm not sure why this thread is needed really... It wasn't so much of an issue in his last tenure.

I agree that Slade being an ex-teacher is not an issue (though if he was a good teacher, then he should stand a better chance of being a good coach), but there was a lot of noise on here (or was it the Grim Outlook?) about him being an ex-teacher during his first tenure.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Mathew Humberstone?

It was Beacon Hill that I attended when I failed my "11 plus" and then it became Mathew Humberstone

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”
