Like all of us, JF sometimes makes mistakes and sometimes gets things right. I think the time is right for somebody else with new ideas to take control. Will this really happen or are we going to be stuck in this rut for the foreseeable future ??

I can, it will be a surprised announcement one day when he gets cheesed off with it all, his loans will either be converted to shares or paid back over say five yearly installments, just a thought not a fact

My guess is he will, when he decides the amount being offered is acceptable. Whether that amount increases or decreases from time to time is key. Football clubs at any level outside the top six in the premiership are black holes for cash and the problem as I see it, is that JF doesn't have the cash or can't justify splashing enough of it to push the club any further anymore. We are at a stalemate in surviving but not progressing. I bet that pees him off as much as us.

Well, Fenty is 55 years old. Average male life expectancy in the UK is 81 years. So we have around 26 years if he never decides to leave on his own terms but I can imagine he'd want to leave before then and retire somewhere in the sun.

To me that's not the issue. We are a self-sustaining club. We don't need to be subsidised by anyone in never ending push to go on to higher levels. I don't see it as a problem if JF doesn't have the money to push us any further. If our own resources won't take us any further then I'd settle for that.

Totally agree. I'd rather JF got some more of his money back in return for relinquishing the stranglehold on the club. On our gates, and even more so if we have a positive PR machine, we could move towards being self sufficient. In a new ground we certainly can be. Base the ethos of the club upon youngsters getting a chance, both our own and those released elsewhere. That alone would reduce the wage bill. Will undoubtedly take time but I'd much rather we had a clear strategy we could buy in to rather than the secret old boys club who treat the fans like shite and cannot see why so many people are unhappy!

Correct Fenty should not have to put more and more money in the Club we should be self sufficient. The problem is the way the Clubs been run for an awful long time as cost the Club an awful lot of money in lost revenue and when cuts have been made to compensate it`s often in the wrong place.

"Small" teams like Burton (ex non-league) can still have their day in the sun at higher levels. It is not all about how much money that you have, although this helps.
It is also about about good management of all the resources that you have (money, income streams, managers, players, recruitment and fans etc).

Like expectancy at birth is 81 years. If you have already survived 55 years it's a few years higher. He'll stand down a year after the new stadium is built IMHO and the future is settled. I'm sure he's no intention of dying in office like Chairman Mao.

In the words of Billy Bragg we'll be 'waiting for the Great Leap Forwards'. (and let's hope the Fenty Dome isn't an expensive mistake like it).

GTFC fanbase after 15 years of Fentyball..
You had the fan base far too big fella, I've amended it for you. (I've included RS and JF in the above)

| The wife was going away for a girly weekend. I jokingly remarked 'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football' 'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked She said 'Well you already know how to play football' |

He'll be at the club until he can't physically do it anymore and then will pass it along to his family to run much like the North Korean leadership works. Even if somebody did buy the club which will never happen he would probably only sell if he kept his place at the head of the board.

Some times I think that change of board/chairman is better for a clubs fortunes than a change of manager.

Quoted from 75
We sold a player for what appears to be a seven figure fee.
And the rest has gone to pay for Slade and Wilkos wages for next 4 years----- 4[ S + W ] + £200K = BOGLE
