To the hotel

good job 254 fans turned up , because the team certainly didn't .

Slades tactics are sucking the life out of the team , totally clueless .

time for another beer ,

Well, not back in Grimsby, but visiting friends in Plymouth,so a took my mate to the match, and what a big mistake. First and foremost,i notice Lincoln were well in command at Crewe, and Hursty commands Division 1. My point?, its what we could of had, or kept. Now, to the game, ha! I applaud the Town fans for travelling down, solely to watch the game, and if I was them, I would be knocking on Blundell Park doors tomorrow for their money back, plus expenses. From the kick off until the final whistle, we were abysmal, not a worthy mention of anything. Slade hasn't got a clue on tactics or subs, we just didn't turn up. Do the players want to play for their manager?, I think not. I am so enraged that this clown was appointed after walking out on us when we played Cheltenham and went to Yeovil. The guy hasn't a clue, and even looking at him in the dugout reminds me of a tramp. Its got to come to a halt Mr.Fenty this Xmas, get rid and admit you was wrong. I'm sorry to the readers of this, I gave Slade the chance to turn us into a team that I would be proud of, this aint gonna happen. For me the season is more or less over. Drab after drab, the players don't know what they are supposed to do, no inventiveness, and no attack, you would think they were told to hold out for 0-0, and after 1-0 down, nothing changed. I am sure there will be late additions on here when the supporters who travelled hundreds of miles to watch this debacle arrive home. It wont be pretty to read, all I can say is, Get rid of the Clown, end of !

When you say "Get rid of the clown" do you mean Fenty or Sladeball, maybe both that would be a great Christmas present.

Feel for the fans who turned up BUT sadly slade is a dinosaur in tactical terms and clearly hasn’t got the know how to change things.  The players he’s brought in are no better than we already had and in some cases much worse. I always thought bringing slade in would at least guarantee our safety but I’m not convinced fully now about that.  Ultimately the buck stops with fenty employing his mate and not searching the market place properly.

Slade out fenty out we need complete change  the club is stale

Just back home. I wish I'd kept to my original plan and not bothered.
No effort in getting the ball forward until DJ came on, even then it was painful to watch. Same old hoof to no one, no width at all. No pace going forward. Why do we have 2 similar players upfront? You need some pace.
Fans summed it up, at only 1 0 down Luke had the ball around 5 or 6 yards from outside the penalty box and literally no one in the stand battered an eye lid, just Sat still watching. Sounds strange but usually if you have the ball around the area people are standing or shouting etc. Nothing from any of us. It felt drained. Even the moans and shouts at Slade sounded half arsed. No positives today at all if I am honest. Dj looked at but looked shattered after 10mins of being on.
Anyway, hope the lads in Aalst atleast get to watch a decent game later.

Agree flea bag. My next game will be Swindon away, only because I've never been before and I'd like to see it. Last 4 games I've attended I've gone out of shir love of football and Grimsby town fc, never been 'excited' or up for it because I know I'm going to be disappointed

I was going to go to Barnet away in a few weeks as its near me. But at £23 a ticket and the fact we're garbage, I'd rather watch Netflix all afternoon.

This was only the 4th game I have managed to see this year but.....

We are just not very good at football really. We try to play balls into the channels but all our players are still behind the halfway line wondering what the hell the ball is doing in their half. Our defence is great as long as the opposition attack plan on using the ball in front of us and don't plan on any of that sneeky 'move the ball quickly' kind of stuff.

We will stay up because of the fecklessness of teams worse than us. That is it for us in my view and as a spectacle it is bloody awful.

I actually went to the game. Having been pretty dismissive of the naysayers I actually felt disgusted today. No passion, and a complete disregard for the fans.

That said, Jones and Dembele can play. DJ should start.

Berett was less than average, Dixon was much worse. I grew up with Croft and Galli and we need a new left back urgently.

I could rattle on about how bad we were but let's focus on staying up and challenging next season.

Just seen both Exeter goals..

Goal One

Dixon ball watching but how the hell was our defensive line as deep as the six yard box?

Goal Two

Collins could have done a lot better than he did. Didn't close down the forward down enough, scared of a one v one foot race, then backed off too far to give him time to pick his shot.

Been through it myself as an ageing centre half who was slowing up. I felt more comfortable defending deeper so I didn't get done for pace. Either Slade has set us up to defend deep because he signed two slow centre halves or Clarke and Collins are naturally dropping deeper due to a lack of confidence in their own pace. Either way it compromises the team performance as a whole and changes need to be made..

Meh. Our budget is probably mid table, and we’re currently a mid table team. I don’t see why so many people are enraged about our current plight, it’s not surprising. ...so many were moaning that we had a ‘bargain basement’ pre season. Well, there you go.

If Slade deserves to go, then so does Evans for spending all that money and only being two more points above us.

I dunno.....guess all there is to say is that I hope we manage to get a few more better players in Jan. And I hope the players we’ve missed through injury come back good for us.

I'll give it till Boxing day. Will see all games up to then. Already booked train tickets and hotel for Barnet. (Birthday weekend!)
Hopefully, the players and staff will have realised that this is already a relegation dogfight and that the fans will not accept 'no shows'. I urge everyone to go as often as their pockets allow, cheer the team but protest firmly to the media, the club and the trust if RS persists with current tactics and selections.

As stupid as this sounds it's not the points we are in that concerns me. It's the lack of tactics or common sense in our line up. I'm not greedy and I am realistic. I think mid table is a good 1st full season under Slade. If we was trying to play the ball on the floor, getting it out wide, crossing the ball, playing with a bit of urgency and pace, I'd be satisfied where we are in the table.

Looking at the players he has signed on two year contracts and the crap football on offer I really don't want to see a second season from Slade.

Mid table is not good, enough when you have Fenty and Slade talking about promotion in Slade's initial press conference.

This is much the same as i think. We are not playing basic principle football tacktics of moving the ball forward by passing the ball to each other as fast as our limited skills allow us, as we move it forward into the more dangerous positions then if we cant play thegame changing pass into the box get it wide and keep pumping the crosses in when we have the forwards, and a midfilder in the box.Law of aerages say you will get your share of the breaks but if you dont get into those advanced positions it wont work.

If we do that consistently we will win more than we lose in this division. The players have shown previously that they ability but Slade wont let them play. I don't think it matters what new players come in. With these tactics better players will also fail.

Its not the form or the lack of goals that concern me but the absence of any glimpse of hope of any potential to change it,we are carrying too many sub-standard players who are playing out their last days. This couple with the obduracy of Slade leaves me to feel we are not going to improve.I will make the statement now if Slade is in charge next season I shall not renew my season ticket.

It's not the points on board or the league position that is so alarming. It's the fact we have scored 5 goals in the last 7 league games with five of those games ending in us not scoring. It would be slightly less alarming if we were creating chances but not taking them because usually you start to get some luck or one of your strikers gets a bit of form. But we're barely registering shots. Hell, we're barely getting near the oppositions goal for large swathes of games. I'd actually be less worried if we were scoring goals and not winning because we were conceding a lot. It's easier to tighten up a defence than it is to get a team to start scoring. Very concerned at the minute. As it stands we're going to need a hell of a lot of clean sheets to get anywhere near enough points to keep us safe.

If we don’t start improving soon the points will be a concern, especially with our inabilitiy to make & take chances

....and don't forget these are all defenders that Slade wanted at the club!. We should never have brought him back, the guy was a Judas and is past his sell by date. Nothing new to offer and living by a pastt reputation that flattered to deceive.

Just arrived back after an overnight stay at my daughters in The Midlands.

Still very annoyed about the start to the game, we stood off and watched Exeter play. They are a decent side if you let them play and the lack of any sort of pressing handed them the initiative and they never let it go.

Frankly they cruised it without having to go through the gears.

We had no attacking threat at all. Mainly because the central midfield never get forward, the full backs aren't quick enough and Woodford is a passenger despite ( I am told) topping the Opta stats for the most ground covered fairly regularly. Dembele didn't do anything, everything he tried failed. Vernon was awol and Jones looking a frustrated figure ( who can blame him)

DJ was the brightest spark although his last ball, cross or shot weren't great

We need to change our outlook and quick. The personnel aren't as bad as some believe BUT let the shackles off, and go for it. Get Clifton alongside Summerfield and then an attacking 3 of DJ, Jones and Siriki behind a lone forward. I would give Matt a start but not before I had put a rocket up his bottom. He CAN play but seems to need motivating.

With Dixon suspended I wonder if the trialist from Palace will be given a short term deal? If he did I would reluctantly leave out Davies for Mills just to give us some pace.

Fully understand the cries of many saying they've had enough but as a supporter I just can't do it (yet). I cling to the hope than we can turn this dour dull run around but guess Slade doesn't see anything wrong. It's not necessarily the personnel that needs drastic change but the mentality of the club from top to bottom. Let's turn ourselves into an attacking side who may get beat from time to time but when we do the opposition know they have been in a game. That has to be better than this dull crap
