A tremendous player and a gentleman. Sad to hear. An all time great for me.

I spoke to a Charlton fan once who said he'd never seen a better header of the ball! Not only did he seem to jump higher than defenders and hang there, I seem to remember he would hurl himself horizontally to head the ball rather than use his feet! Also a dab hand at winning penalties! I think the power behind his headers sticks in my mind!
