Good points Ron, but he's signed plenty more players that he hadn't worked with before than he had. He might have similar success in the transfer market a level higher? It might be similar to when he took over at Shrewsbury; in that he wants to get rid of the underperforming high earners, but I suppose the difference here is that they've probably got years rather than months left on their contracts.

They'll probably end up with a 'big name' like Ryan Giggs or Kevin Phillips or someone.

They've taken bad punts at big names over the last decade!

Good luck to him if he takes the chance but he will need some support with PR as you are really under a big spotlight locally and still nationally despite their decline.

Obviously if he approached me I would consider it

The likes of Paul Hurst and Danny Cowley should be getting these jobs and in my opinion they should be top of the list over the usual merry go round Manager`s.Yes I can see the attraction in a big name like Ryan Giggs to give the Club a lift BUT is he the right man for a dogfight with no proven track record?

Depends on what is written in their contracts,

In our case Hurst always had 6 months left on his contract so Shrewsbury would have paid that off,

I read the other day that one manager I think it was the Burnley one had a sell out clause of  £2.5 million.

Agreed if we don't give young English managers a chance how the hell do we appoint a Englishman to manage England

Agreed and Grimsby Town have a good record of producing  a England manager and Assistant Manager.
